jcaffee
Some more X7 experimentation. Lots of compound mirror reflections on a variety of symbol/object types. Lots of shiny bits to throw a wrench into the works. Look Ma, no artifacts, ghosts, or fireflies! Yippee! jon
BryceEngstrom
Bryce, looks like Pismo in the background, nice Just one of Chief's standard backdrops, but it is somewhat similar to the view they will have looking south down Cayucos beach toward Morro Rock. BryceEngstrom
Bryce - What's supporting that ridge beam over the window? Dennis, it's this nifty new invention they have called a steel moment frame. ;-)

RobUSMC
This was a fun kitchen to complete. First with floating shelves. A huge transformation from a Texas traditional rustic to more contemporary.

jcaffee
Some X7 WMR (Wall Material Region) magic. Using stacked/multiple WMRs to create an ivy trompe l'oeil. jon
Dennis_Gavin
jon - that looks like some of the ivy is actually in mid air! Is that just an illusion? Very nice.
jcaffee
I think that's from using transparent png images on the WMR. All sorts of shadows appeared during RT. It's a process, right? jon
DRAWZILLA
Nice Jon. I love it when people come up with this stuff. I always just never have time to be a free thinker, too much work to do. I just can't get up at 2am like Scott.
jcaffee
Then it's good you have us free thinking limit pushers out here in the wild, challenging the software to do groovilicious stuff. jon
RodCole
Here is a storefront that I just finished the renderings for. I modeled the signs in another app, but the building was done in Chief. The rendering was done using Octane Render and took about one min. This is one of the lower modes, Direct Lighting, but I liked the lighting effect a bit better this way. Direct Lighting is a single bounce render, so it does not deal as well with glass and other translucent objects. I was not really intending to do a close up of the entryway so please excuse the open below effect and the blue color of the siding in the entryway. Color selections are only rough at this time. Just thought someone may be interested.
Dennis_Gavin
Just messing around. Wanted to get more detail for this medicine cabinet. Did a close up at an angle with polished properties. Wanted to show the pilaster. I have a 3D light in front of the cabinet at 15watts. I could just do a line art render and it will show but no pizazz. I may include close up RT's like this for future projects.

Dennis_Gavin
Pkegles, What do you mean when you say executed in Chief? I have only used Lumion free and it's been a while. I did like their walk through tools though. Thanks for keeping this post alive. Nice work!
Chiefer
Nice and smooth. I like the subtle reflections on the walls. How long did it take for Lumion to render this and at what resolution?
inArtifex
Good Morning Dennis, what I mean by executed and modeled in chief is that: I have created the construction sets on chief and all the details (except for the plants) on Chief as well (lots of polyline solids, lol). I have used the free version as well and was mesmerized by the quality and simplicity of Lumion, the 5.3 Pro is amazing IMHO. Jintu, it took 7.5 hours @ 1080 5 stars. And Jon I will get the book and would really appreciate your input if possible. IE (too long, boring angles???)

inArtifex
It did, but would be even better if Lumion had multiple GPU support
