srjbb97
I am pretty new with working with the terrain feature. I have tried using the elevation region tool as seen in the walk out basement terrain training video, but I just don't understand what I am doing wrong. Can someone help? Thank you! glennw
It looks to me like you need to change the Elevation of the Terrain Elevation Region. In this picture I changed it to -400".
cv2702
Have you looked at the front view, given -400" ? I would suggest -200", but there is still a lot of work to be done for this design to be on tracks.
glennw
I think you need to explain in a bit more detail exactly what you are trying to achieve.
rlackore
I suggest: 1) Cut the elevation regions and set Terrain Specification>Building Pad>Subfloor Height Above Terrain to manual, and enter a value that places the terrain where you want it, relative to the first floor/garage: 2) Now Paste Hold Position your elevation regions back in place and finish manipulating the terrain as required: In my opinion setting the terrain height manually makes subsequent manipulation easier and more predictable. That said, modifying terrain in Chief can be very frustrating.

That said, modifying terrain in Chief can be very frustrating. I also find it easier to Create the Terrain on the 1st level but maybe that's just me? In this particular case setting the Terrain height manually makes all the difference and you can use real world measurements , eg set it to 20" , then the Front region can be extended ( always pull regions outside the Terrain Perm.) and set to 0" ( really -20" ) and you can then set the rear one to -90 or so. Remembering terrain regions influence the Terrain Perm. which is already at -20 really , so -20+-90 =-110 or 9'2" below Level 1 subfloor , a cross section can help you wrap your head around some of this .... cameras saved in Plan below lot 4-126_MHD.plan M.
