TEXT LAYERING

On Layouts would like to be able to layer Off some text, while keeping other text  On.    For example layer / turn off Structural text on the Electrical drawing while keeping electrical text on the Electric Layout Drawing.    Have seen examples on layouts sent to me.    Have spent some time on, and would be helpful if someone could shed light on how best to accomplish.  Thank you.

At least use layersets (saved sets of layer settings), one for structural, one for electrical, etc. I use annosets to change layersets and more. Search on this forum for "layersets" and "annosets". It will be worth your time.

KBird has the right idea in that different annotation sets by default (when they are understood and used) automatically place text and other objects on appropriate layers while using a particular annotation set and you can customize annotation sets and create specialized text layers within those annotation sets to place text on whatever layer you desire. The "trick" if it can be so called is understanding, choosing, customizing annotation sets and their sets of layers to do your work for you while you work.

You use the Layer Sets in the Plan.  Then when you send a view to Layout it will use the current Layer Set.  As others have stated, setting up Annosets and Layer Sets is key.  It takes a little time, but once you have it done.......
