Rosco2017 48 Posted November 7, 2016 Hey guys, I can't seem to get this shape using the stairs tool. Am I missing something? How would you create this type of stair? It has been the longest day! See attached pic.
DavidJPotter 324 Posted November 7, 2016 Patience and perseverance is all I can think of, one should be able to at least get close to your posted image. DJP

joey_martin 391 Posted November 8, 2016 Try a series of shaped landings to get to the straight section.
GeneDavis 143 Posted November 8, 2016 Each of the flare-out steps can be done as a landing. Any shape can be drawn with Chief CAD, and then turned into a landing. I just sketched out a couple of landings, one as your first step, the other as your second.
Rosco2017 48 Posted November 8, 2016 Joey, I was just starting to experiment with the landings before you wrote that. I was hoping to avoid having several sections to these stairs. Thanks for taking a look at it. Thank you Gene for taking time out of your day to help me. I did submit my plan to Chief and they said they would see what they could come up with. Fingers crossed it's not the landing method, but it probably will be.
DRAWZILLA 784 Posted November 8, 2016 You will also need to do the railing manually adding the volute. here is one volute.calibz
Rosco2017 48 Posted November 8, 2016 Thank you Perry. SO, get this. After all that fuss, after submiting to chief and posting on this forum, they want a landing at the bottom of the stairs with with steps up from both sides... After messing with this until 2:30 in the morning and they decide they want to change the stairs. I wanted to scream! But they are the client and I just a humble draftsman... A glass or two of wine with lunch helped bring me back to earth. LOL
DRAWZILLA 784 Posted November 8, 2016 I hate that, it happens to all of us, we just have to keep plugging along to get it done, you can always charge them extra if its there fault.
