SusanC
I have been having problems with Material Regions in plans brought forward from X7 to X8. When drawing bathroom tile, for example. I draw a CAD box, use the "Convert Polyline" tool to change it into a material region and it disappears from my elevation. If I take an overview of the plan I can always find the missing material region outside of the house. What is causing this? This does not happen if I draw a regular old polyline solid on the wall. The polyline solid stays where it was drawn, however I don't have the control over the tile as I do in Material Regions so I prefer not to use polyline solids. Chopsaw
This seems to be functioning fine in X8 for me. So I would suggest trying to use the wall material region tool or reporting to tech support as a bug if the proper tool also does not work. Just curious, why the cad box? SusanC
Is there another way to get a material region up on a wall for tile?
HumbleChief
Is there another way to get a material region up on a wall for tile? Yes, you can draw it on the wall when in perspective floor overview, just make sure you are looking at the wall in a direct enough manner otherwise it will draw in weird places. DRAWZILLA
I always use the section elevation views or a wall elevation view if you don't want to see the whole building, but never any perspective view b/c you are looking at an angle
justmejerry
You can draw material region in elevation or cross section view.
justmejerry
That's my way of thinking Perry. Always elevation or section.
