  1. I created a walkthrough path on the first floor and it extends up the stairs to the second floor. On the second floor, I can see the camera, but can't extend the path. All I get is a new camera 1 & 2. On the first floor it was fairly easy to connect and extend the walkthrough path. I created the path using; 3D > Create Walkthrough Path. Any suggestions?
  2. Electrical power and lighting/switches on two different layers. All large commercial projects have drawings for each.
  3. Remember when Blueprints were Blue? When had one of the original Blueprint machines in college.
  4. From the Reference manual: "Faster Ray Tracing Reduce the number of surfaces in the 3D model by turning off all layers not used in the scene to be ray traced. For example, you may be able to turn off terrain layers for interior views, or cabinet layers for exterior views. See “Layers” on page 143. An even more effective way to reduce the size and complexity of a 3D model is to use Save As to create a copy of the plan, then delete all areas of the model that do not affect the scene to be ray traced. Depending on the scene, you maybe able to delete entire rooms - or even entire floors. Depending on the scene, a ray trace can quite literally take days to produce. There are several things you can do to reduce the time required: • Image size is a significant factor in the speed of a ray trace. As you adjust the lighting and other variables in a scene, you can save time by creating smaller ray traces for preview purposes. To do this, specify a relatively small image size in the Ray Trace Options dialog. When you are ready to create a final ray trace, spec- ify a larger image size. See “General Panel” on page 943. "
  5. Make sure "Enable Depth of Field" is not checked.
  6. Create an Architectural Block, then add it to your User Library for future use.
  7. Page 790 of the reference manual shows how to create Architectural Blocks.
  8. Search the library for spot lights
  9. I can now make and answer phone calls from my computer via the iPhone. There is a short delay in voice but not annoying. You must be on the same WiFi for it to work.
  10. I didn't watch it. The only thing I noticed is that my speakers didn't work. I had to go into System Preferences > and change from Digital out to Line out.
  11. I dated my Mac Pro and MacBook Air to the free OS upgrade Yosemite 10.10, I also updated my iPhone 5. The good news is, everything works very well. So far, there is no bad news. I use the Apple software - Numbers and Pages on the Macs and my iPhone. The update to iDrive went smoothly. iDrive is a free upgrade to iCloud. BootCamp and Windows7 also works well. Of course Chief Architect also works. I didn't find and update for Apple TV nor Apple Time Capsule. If you're going to update to Yosemite, allow time, probably an 30 min. to an hour and of course back up first. After Yosemite installs, check for more updates
  12. I email drawings, invoices, scanned photos and many other files as .pdf Even the most inept computer users are able to open them.
  13. I've built a wall on the deck and placed flush wall mounted lights one it. Use the mouse and move the light fixture from the wall to the rail post. Then delete the wall. The problem is trying to spin it 180º
  14. Double click the sink to open the dialog box. Change the Floor to Bottom dimension to lower it. You may need to also slide it to the front of the cabinet
  15. Edit > Default Settings > Dimensions > Dimensions >1:25 Dimensions > Edit Change mm to ft-in Set the rest of the settings like fractions, uncheck thousandths etc. OK > Done You may also need to rest the 1:50 Dimensions
  16. I didn't have any problems with it. I moved walls and door using the dimensions.
  17. Any video editing program can do it. I prefer Sony Vegas Pro but a simple program like Sony Vegas Movie Studio will work. Other programs are Apple iMovie, Adobe Premier, Adobe Premier Elements. The reason I prefer Vegas Pro is that it will accept just about any format of video, still photographs and sound that you throw at it. You can also use a Microphone to record. You can make a DVD or Blu Ray disc. You can also post it to Utube, Vimeo, FaceBook or send it to an iPhone or your web site.
  18. If your box is filled with CAD, how is there any room for brick?
  19. Lengthen the overall duration.
  20. Open the Wall Cabinet specifications. Front > check Drawer / Drawer Overlay > Vertical Overlap = 2" Face Items > select the door which is probably #2 > Move Down
  21. Of all the ones I've done, I like this one the best.
