  1. Ray, I got that part sort of figured out. Thank you!. It makes the pitch 5 13/16/12 instead of 4/12, but I can live with that. Now the other problems... Not sure I'm going to have any hair left... LOL
  2. Well I thought I had this plan under control. Now I'm having issues with a few areas above my garage in my bonus room, and I can't seem to get the roof correct over my two area's in the back of my house. I will attach a link to a video of what my roof should look like, and some pics of what I want to accomplish. http://www.screencast.com/t/nleY4TVXj2iQ If it's not to much trouble, please tell me what I'm doing wrong, or what I need to do, to avoid these issues in the future. I've got nothing better to do on a Saturday evening then to iron out theses issues. Thank you for your time! Ross & Chase Dietzer Residence.zip
  3. Why don't I ever pay attention? Alan got to it first. LOL
  4. I never use the material sprayer to apply siding, I either set the default style of siding I want or do what I just explained above and click Library Materials and instead of Plan Materials, and just navigate to what I want. Good Luck!
  5. Double Click on the wall, open the "materials" tab in the DBX, select "Exterior Lower Wall Surface" then click select material. Click plan materials, then click "Use Default" at the top of the list. That should make the wall's materials default back to normal.
  6. PLEASE CHIEF MAKES THE STAIR TOOL AND FOUNDATIONS YOUR NEXT PRIORITY!!!!!
  7. The only complaint I have with X7 is when I click "print" it takes forever for the print dbx box to open. Then print feature was a little slow. Other than that i have to say X7 is my favorite release thus far. Just my 2₵
  8. oh shoot. you're using X6. Let me save it in X6 and post it again. You'll need to check the framing of your roof planes. That seems to be messed up and that's what's causing your soffit issues after "Joining Roof Planes".
  9. I went ahead and "Joined" your roof planes for you, there are a few other things that need attention in your plan, however I have to run. I can look at it a little more later if you'd like PM me if you have specific questions and I'll see if I can help. The plan looks pretty good so far. mar 25 Roof Joined.plan
  10. Oops! I realize I copied and pasted the wrong video link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix5Y4OAfQQQ Here is the one I meant to post.
  11. Hey buddy, looks to me like you haven't "joined" your roof planes. Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR8vwRQ1L2g and you should be on the right track!
  12. I messed around with it in X6 and I can't seem to get it to go away. I've had this problem in the past with the room divider walls, but whenever I pulled them back and then reconnected them, my problem went away. That doesn't seem to be the case in your plan. Hmm. I'm very obsessive compulsive about my plans and this would bug me to no end. Maybe submit the plan to tech support if no one figures it out? Also you seem to have a little rectangular hole in your ceiling. Maybe someone could fuss with that a bit. Good Luck Todd! I hope you get it figured out.
  13. Hmm, I'm not getting that on my end. Let me poke around a bit.
  14. On the second floor, in the area you want to be "Open To Below" double click in the area you want open to below and change the Room Type to "Open To Below" Open to Below Test.plan
  15. Does anyone have a stamped concrete texture file they like to use? I attached a photo of what we commonly use.
  16. Try this... go to "Preferences", click on "Render", then make sure "reflections in mirrors" under preview options is checked.
  17. Larry beat me to it! LOL
  18. I started using Chief Architect Premier right after X5 was released. I'm not sure what tools X4 had vs. X5, but if it was me, I'd use a polyline solid and use the "Transform/Replicate Tool" to evenly distribute it across the area I wanted it in.
  19. http://www.chieftutor.com/chiefx1.html <----Chief Tutor. Great learning tool. https://www.youtube.com/user/dshall44/videos <----Scott Hall's youtube channel, entertaining, and very informative if you don't mind the sailor talk! LOL I happen to love it! https://www.youtube.com/user/ChiefArchitectInc/videos <---- Chief Architect's youtube channel http://video.chiefarchitect.com/?__utma=67784003.539610179.1420786454.1426531106.1426547035.60&__utmb=67784003.2.10.1426547035&__utmc=67784003&__utmx=-&__utmz=67784003.1426282850.57.19.utmcsr=facebook.com|utmccn=(referral)|utmcmd=referral|utmcct=/&__utmv=-&__utmk=166206969 Videos on Chief's website. I think you might have to have SSA to view all of them, not sure. Never NOT had SSA. Hopefully some of these might guide you on your way. Dan Baumann has a youtube channel that is very helpful, I recommend you watch his video series on Chief Archietect Mistakes. I think there are like 10 of them or so, I'll post the link, i believe you can find the rest through the first video. These were very helpful videos! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuIPzVulvG8
  20. Todd, What Joe just said, I believe is why your molding polyline is messing up. If you've fixed your foundation problem, then I believe you just have to move the items that are out of place. It's a pain I know, but if it gives you the results you're looking for, I'd do it.
  21. Todd, maybe post the plan one last time and we can take a look at it. Everyone has a method when it comes to building their model. Mine is as follows... Walls first. (1st, 2nd, & basement.) Next I add the roof, then I add all the windows, then doors, then I tackle the interiors (Such as moldings, cabinets, custom details etc.) I do this because of the same problem you are having. I only had this problem with my garage windows. Attach the plan and we can look over it. It's the first day here in Fort Wayne that the temp reached above 60, so I'll be out for the majority of the day. I'll take a look at it tonight if you post it!
  22. Mick, I'd have to say that so far your method is pretty quick and easy.
  23. Now how in the hannah montanna did that last pic get flipped upside down?! Sorry about that!
