  1. I do not understand Joe's approach. Does anybody else get if ? If Joe is correct, I have been missing something. If Joe is correct, maybe a workshop will help me understand.
  2. Apparently I am missing something. I thought I needed a different layer set for my two different site plans sent to layout. If I send one site plan to layout at 1"=10' and one site plan sent to layout at 1"=60', I need a different layer sets for each to control the TEXT SIZE. If I use the same layer set for each, the text will be the same size, and of course i would assume I would like the text for the 1"=60' LARGER than the text for the view that is sent at 1"=10'.
  3. Joe, feel that I understand this fairly well, and I use them all the time. A comment, you said that you use the annoset to trigger the layer set. This is what I do. HOWEVER........ I think CA made a mistake here. I do not think the anno set should trigger the layer set, I think the layer set should trigger the anno set. If this was the case, there would be fewer anno sets. I use a multitude of layers sets that could utilize a single anno set. I do not think a multitude of anno sets can utilize a single layer set. This results in more anno sets than I need, but I need these to trigger a particular layer set. I am working on a project from a common client of ours, and they have attempted to simplify this process, I am trying to work within their system, but I find myself adding additional layer and anno sets along with additional layers. Nuts, this is can be very complicated to have one system that works for all users. I think the system utilized will be unique to each user. Bottom line for the post, I think CA should change this from anno sets triggering layer sets to layer sets triggering anno sets.

    It's a no brainer. Would use this on every job. Project info should be expandable.
  5. Must be careful with this. Hog wire is similar to a chain length fence which can bog a machine down. Many many faces. The molding idea is good, but I would recommend wire with square cross section profile vs round cross section. An alternative would be a MATERIAL on a PANEL for the hog wire.
  6. I totally agree, it is the users on this forum that give CA the extra value that the other programs do not have. Maybe I am missing something, but I have looked at the forums for other programs and I do not believe their forums have anywhere near the help that this forum offers.

  9. Robert, not good, I would talk with support on that and find out the reason. You must go nuts waiting 70 seconds for that. Please let me know what support says, that should not be happening.
  10. Yeah, it's probably 22"..... I don't know to be honest...... actually I think it is also 30x30..... so hard to keep up with everything.

  12. It is out of CA's control. I think they are talking to some muckity mucks somewhere else and THEY (the muckity mucks somewhere else) are working on it. Being a layman who knows very little, I think it is a problem that is easily solvable, but what do I know?..... and I am still waiting.
  13. Hey Barton , yeah, I will elaborate, I have to have a PC in the office to print to PDF because if I print to PDF on the MAC. the file size is about 85 MB vs 4 MB'S on the PC. A real PITA to switch back and forth from the mac to pc and back to mac. Except for this, I love the mac over the PC many times over.
  14. No attached drawing..... but I do not think this is rocket science...... do you think if you have the same overhang yet a different pitch they will line up? Think about it..... come on Bud, let's be more specific about the question..... when you ask a question, why don't you propose some options/solutions and then the peeps on this awesome site will help you out.....
  15. They recently changed the code to a minimum 24x36 access....... they were thinking of my friend P., but P. is a growing boy, I think they are talking about amending the minimum size to 42" square so P. can get up in the attic and change the filter.
  16. Okay, turn off snarky mode.... it's two pieces.... PIECE #1: build a psolid that is the top of the base. PIECE #2: build a profile of the brick base as a closed pline drawn in elevation, send to library, now draw a square in plan, turn to molding, attached the just saved profile to the molding...... align as need, salt & pepper let rest before serving...... do not add any sauce..... less than 390 calories.

  18. Yep, I take a lot of fau's sour of heated space and put in attic.
  19. This is true, but I am not sure it makes a lot of sense. Why are we putting ducts and the fau in an unheated space? Oh I know, we here in California ain't the smartest.....

  21. Just download the trial versions for free and check it out for yourself. If this is your business, just get the most expensive version and you will be okay.
  22. It just seems that some how you could turn the terrain into a SOLID that would have a defined volume. Subtract the before solid volume from the after solid volume and you would have your answer. It ain't there yet.
