  1. they should no be the same color, something is wrong.
  2. Never mind, I figured it out. You can see by the pic on the right I have essentially no light on the front door.
  3. There you go, post the plan and you have an answer in about 132.38 seconds.........
  4. Will somebody please teach me how to create a rendering of a night time shot of this plan before The Great Glenn Woodward makes me feel like a dweeb? It seems like with every new release, I need to learn the methods all over again. I have done what I perceive are some great night time (toggle sunlight off) renderings in the past, so I know it is possible. I am now working with X7 and I cannot do it. I have included the plan and 2 renderings. One rendering is daytime , the other night time. If I have no light, wouldn't I see only a black picture? BBB NO LIGHT TEST 1.plan.zip
  5. Scott, do you want me to guess some more or do you want to post the plan so you can get a quick answer? Every time I guess at these things, I am wasting everybody's time. Just post the plan please instead of wasting everybodies time.
  6. I feel so stupid pointing this out again, but the question and request has been answered several times already. Here is a pic of auto dimensions dimensioning to the center of the walls. Are we not understanding what you are asking or are you not listening?
  7. Look in the Manuel under dimensions, specifically LOCATE
  8. Do it, maybe by then X8 will be out and we can share war stories.
  9. Next year might be better. But let's not forget.
  10. Joey, you set it up when you are ready. maybe for a few nights one weekend. Absolutely we can chip in $$ for the essentials. This could really be fun. When I was up in Michigan in May, and we hooked up with Jim Lawes, he took us out on his boat on Torch Lake, it was a real treat. That sounds great Joey, I am up for it.
  11. Alan, do you think we can hold the UGM on Joey's boat? Chevy Suburban, isn't that a classic SUV about the size of an M-1 Abrams Tank?
  12. Great idea, hey Joey, can I bring something?
  13. WAIT A MINUTE !!!!!!!!.......... ski party at Joey's place next winter....... it's not Utah, but it is close to home. Hey Joey, are you on the slopes?
  14. If you put on our night vision goggles, the issue is quite clear.
  15. Hey, you might make a good lawyer, all they do it look up precedents. Nice job. Maybe I will hire you if I need a lawyer... god forbid.
  16. I am glad you are not my lawyer. You can read it as many times as you want, but if you bought it on your IPAD, you cannot give a copy away to all of your friends. I think once the builder has bought the plans, he can build it as many times as he wants on THAT LOT for THOSE clients, but he can't build it on different lots for different clients. If I bought the movie "Gone with the Wind" since I paid for it, can I copy it over and over and resell it? Robert, you lose this one.
  17. Nuts, openings could be a problem.
  18. Yep, that could be a problem.
  19. Thanks Jon. What I expected. This might work..... I want to show lower wall of pony wall in plan. Upper wall is 2x4 wall, lower wall is 8" cmu, I show upper wall in plan, for 2x4 wall I add 4" no opening material wall with the cmu hatching. That will represent lower wall. We now can see lower wall in plan. Few minor problems, but could work for the most part.
  20. I'm not in office. Open new plan, create new wall, 8" thick , material is OPENING NO MATERIAL. draw a 20' x 20' house. Take a vector pic and a render pic, please post pics. I am curious as to what we will see. Thanks.
  21. I opened Alan's plan, I built the framing, adjusted the thickness of exterior finish so the blocking will show and you can see by the picture what I got. Note the blocking is OUTSIDE of the wall and not stacked on top. Solution, minimize the blocking so it does not show and then edit as needed to show blocking on top of wall in lieu of outside of wall.
  22. Alan, I am glad you brought this up. Somehow in the last 10 years I have gotten by. But it is silly that we cannot have the vertical blocking stack on top of wall and have exterior finish go up to roof sheathing. A very very common occurrence. It seems to me that on an occasion I stumbled on a solution but I did not study it and I do not know if I could replicate the solution. Glenn's method seems like we are giving something up, i.e. the blocking and a sub fascia. Recently I saw a post by Perry whereby he had a solution. Hopefully he will pipe in with his solution......... if he ever gets out of bed the darn slug.
