  1. This is a very good point, what you are asking for is the ability to create as many layers as needed for a roof assembly similar to what we can do with walls with the wall multi layering capabilities. I would like to think CA is working on this for X8 but who knows. The MODELING OF THE STRUCTURE is hopefully what CA will be concentrating on in the next few versions...... and this includes what Sherry is asking for. And Sherry brings up a good point..... without being able to define multi layers of a roof assembly her sections will take a bit longer. This is the kind of function that we power users who do a lot of CD's would like to see to make our jobs quicker and more efficient.
  2. oh..... sorry Mick, I am going against my new tenet, post the plan Adam........ the cabinet will not clip itself, you have to clip the cabinet yourself. Cabinets do not clip themselves.
  3. .... if you convert to custom countertop, you can do whatever you want.
  4. Interesting, I said 36", Jintu "The Master" says 45" and Wendy the Matron ( a compliment hopefully) says 60"-100"................ I have seen many of Wendy's Pics and they are about the best save Jintu's stuff...... if you learn from Wendy's stuff or Jintu's stuff, you can't go wrong.
  5. I do not know your name, I do not know what software you are using, I do not know what version of the software you are using, you have been asked several times to post your software version and you have been asked to post the plans and you have ignored the requests. Many of us spend a lot of time helping out new users and we appreciate those new users who try to help out us old users that are simply trying to help out you new users. We rarely get compensated for our time. I think the new users should use some simple courtesy and try to fit in with us old stalwarts. I think there are many users on this site who will agree that tech support is not as forthcoming as the stalwarts on this site..... because tech support is busy making the program better. I will keep my money in my pocket. I wish you good fortune, it is a wonderful program you are using.
  6. Mick, do me a favor, never request the OP to post the plan. If you promise not to request a posted plan, I promise I will never again request a posted plan. Mick, think about it, how much time could we save by not posting this request...... more money in our pocket Brother. And then if they don't post the plan, we will not spend our time opening the plan to help them, again, more money in our pocket. Okay, I have decided, if there is no posted plan, I promise I will never request the OP to post the plan and I will not waste my time trying to recreate the OP's issue with my own plan. I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, I will not request OP to post plan, UNLESS IT IS A VERY INTERESTING QUESTION..... I have to have an out.........
  7. I agree, but once you understand it, who cares? Maybe the reason has to do with whether the layer set is being chosen by the anno set and whether the anno set is king or whether ......... blah blah blah, .... at least you understand it now.
  8. The above methods are two different methods of defining the LAYER SET for the LAYOUT BOX LAYERS.......... I think Rod and I are in agreement.
  9. If i understand the question, you can right click on layout box, see pic for what pops up, you can now specify the layout set you want without an anno set be specified............... however..... however.... if you open layout box, an open, you can select the ANNO SET and if that is tied to a layer set, the layer set will be set. Complicated stuff and unless one understands this, what I said will make no sense. If you want a further explanation, give me a call. I cannot explain it any better.
  10. Guilty as charged. Should I of said HE/SHE ? Oh boy, that opens up an entire new can of worms.
  11. Why wouldn't he post the plan so we could possibly help him out? 9 responses, no conclusion.... awwwww, it's the norm around here.
  12. I don't know why they are in the library. I am not sure if there is an advantage to using the CA library symbols over the WINDOW/LOUVER VENT.
  13. I assume you are using a SYMBOL FROM LIBRARY and you are not using a WINDOW/LOUVER. If you use the WINDOW/LOUVER I do not believe this is a problem, see pic. If you use a LOUVER VENT SYMBOL FROM LIBRARY , I am assuming this is where the problem is. The work around? Use a WINDOW, select LOUVER (not fixed glass), and all is well.
  14. No can do, you cannot do what you want to do.
  15. Nuts, Glenn has the life, Off to Sumatra again Glenn ?
  16. I did this just today. See the water color thread for a pic.
  17. Thinking about it more, I know I paint inside walls with spray can and I get paint color from Martha Stewart paint pallet. I think I understand problems, but it has not been a problem for me. I color stucco exterior walks using rainbow tool. Vid in AM.
  18. Hmmmmm, good question, i will do a vid in the AM. I. Have painted with spray can, but I think I typically use rainbow tool to change color, maybe that is what you are referring to. I will clarify in AM but good question.
  19. This is interesting. Using this method there is the possibility of keeping the detail LIVE..... I think. Might be more trouble than it is worth..... Thinking of details that may change once the engineer does his work, I.e. Retaining walls
  20. Mick, Levi's method does work. To be specific, Levi could copy his foundation plan, go to next sheet in layout, paste in place, and with very little effort change it from foundation plan to a third floor plan using a different anno set, a different layer set, a different ref set, and change whether ref set is drawn first or last and, and. It will do his laundry for him.
  21. I agree with Jon, I disagree with Joe. It is not a mix....... unless you use the ROLLER.... I rarely use the ROLLER, wrongly or rightly. The ROLLER keeps the texture but changes the color. I disagree with Perry, I color walls all the time. Exterior walls are much less of an annoyance than interior walls. I rarely have issues painting walls....... I should say I rarely have issues painting walls for the purpose I want to use the painted walls. Greg, I do not think it adds another layer....... I do not know if I know what it does..... whatever it does seems to work for me. To be more specific, I paint interior walls (the drywall), because when I do as builts the boy has a blue room and the girl a pink room. I paint the walls the appropriate color and it works. If someone sees a reason why what I do does not work, please explain. It helps all of us if we can critique each others methods.
  22. This is a great method that was not available until ........ errrrrrrrrrr.... x6 or x7. Good method. For those of us who use the SAM or the TEMPLATE METHOD with layout boxes already in layout, I use a MARKER on sheet zero of layout, that will then show on all sheets, and I then place the corner of all PLAN VIEWS on that marker. 3 methods, they all work.
  23. Symbols/tables will hide stools, countertops will not unless they are custom countertops.
