If you are referring to the horizontal band that runs through the shower controls then that is most likely a wall covering.
-
It won't be exactly like that but you should be able to work something out that would be acceptable with a Wall Detail and Framing Schedule.
-
That would sure add a lot to the software if they were on separate layers. Lots of possibilities with those options. Just like the new header labels for windows and doors.
-
Whew..... Thanks Mark, so glad it works the same for cabinets.
-
You can toggle between them in the DBX but you need to toggle both controls. You can show the label and manually add a callout. Or you can put the Number value into your label if you don't need it to look like a callout, using the %schedule_number% macro.

Didn't The Print Dialog Box Used To Remember The Previous Setting?
Chopsaw replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
It appears to still be working on build 20.2.2.3. However the Print Range settings seemed to be a bit sticky on a previous job but once you complete a full print cycle they will stick the majority of the time. -
Just went to check my version and it decided to update, still working fine. Google Chrome is up to date Version 66.0.3359.170 (Official Build) (64-bit)

This one here may be the culprit :

There appears to be elevation data contained in the proposed elevation layers ( C-CONT-INDEX, and C-CONT-INTER ) that I was able to import. Also if you want to bring it into a separate plan file there appears to be existing elevation data as well on the ( EX-CONT-INDEX, and EX-CONT-INTER ) layers that will import but has some corrupted 0' elevation data that chief will warn you about but it will have to be routed out manually. It appears to be something near the NE corner of the lot.

Larry, If you don't get a logical answer today please send that one in to tech support. I just sent one in where doors were showing in doorways but only 3/4 of the profile.

David, Could you explain a little more about this and if there is a way to determine this information when importing into Chief or prior to importing without using AutoCAD. I imported the file into X10 and chose ft as the scale and it seems to measure correctly. I don't have AutoCAD but took a look at the file in TrueView and the CONT-MJR and CONT-MNR were both set to a hidden line style. I was able to change the line style but found nothing on those layers although it suggested that they were used. Does AutoCAD not have an indicator system something like the + in Chief to show if a layer is in use ?

I think it may be the other way around Rich. Try: Firefox 42 or later (preferred) Chrome 46 or later Safari 9 or later Edge 13 or later I use Chrome for the forum and it has some nice features that Explorer does not. I thought you might like this one Rich. I didn't think you were a farmer.

Have not looked at the .dwg yet but if you have confirmed the import of lines or points with elevation data then all you need is to create a terrain perimeter around that data.

Lots of choices, traditional, modern, lattice, wrought iron, mirrors, lights, plants. Just something that will break up the space acceptable to the client. https://www.google.ca/search?q=exterior+blank+wall+covering+ideas&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjnlY6nroPbAhUr74MKHThJAEoQ_AUICigB&biw=1080&bih=1854#imgrc=_

Yes I have a name but Chop or Chopsaw works fine here on the forum. Is you plan stable now without warnings ? Mine still thinks the walls are inside out when the drywall is on the inside.

Documents > Chief Architect Premier.... Data > Toolbars I think. What build do you have installed ?

If the regular procedures don't work try this : Regular Methods :

Open railing wall below and deselect "Roof Cuts Wall at Bottom". Not really sure why but it worked on my version. Also set the main wall back to default top height and it seemed to be ok that way.
-
Yes and then I had to squeeze the railing wall back in as " Furred " I got the warning a few times at one point but not sure what my setting were at that point. Also still keep on getting warnings to flip the wall but even when you do it does not help.
-
Let us know how it goes with the pony wall but it may not be possible when set to "furred". I set the main wall to "frame through" You can have the file back if you think it would help. Don't think I messed it up too bad. Nice looking build by the way. Love to see it when you are done. Quite the cantilever.
-
Set the windows to "not through" and you should be good.
-
Just a wee bit of a problem in the living room but still working on that one. Not sure I could do it twice but was able to reinsert a railing wall set to "furred" but it would not take on the original pony wall settings so I took the wall below and set it to " Balloon Through Ceiling Above"
-
The side effects are serious but this may be the only way. It deletes the end section of railing pony wall and deletes the windows. However the windows can be replaced and you conveniently have a psolid filler that can be extended to fill the deleted railing wall. Just a little fudging to do in floor plan. Looks ok in 3D.

The X's appear to be roof intersection points that can be helpful when doing manual roof plane adjustments. They were generated by a setting in Preferences > Architectural > Roofs > "Automatically Place Roof Intersection Points" They can be deleted with the Delete Temporary Points tool You still have a long way to go but try selecting your front gable walls and open the DBX and go to the Roof tab and select "Auto Roof Return" Roof Type: "Full"

Yes that looks great Yusuf just so long as you have enough black ink. Not sure if it needs to be a layer but there is still more room in the DBX for additional options for sure.
