  1. Why not just push CA to make the Solar Panels automatically adjust to match the roof slope? I've been asking them to do that for at least 10 years. If more users would send that feature request in (actually IMO it's a bug) then maybe it'll get done.
  2. This should be reported to Chief Support or Chief Content as a bug. Such hardware should automatically be handled as Rene's 1st method.
  3. I don't think you need to draw the truss base in X15. It should be automatic for Truss Framing.
  4. I've been an Architect for 54 years. I've always called them "outlookers" just like: Websters Dictionary Encyclopedia Britanica Cambridge Dictionary "Time-Saver Standards" & "Graphic Standards" are totally silent on them except for a couple of details in "Graphic Standards" that labeled them as "outriggers". Those Details were hand lettered.
  5. So you're saying that because another company used the wrong terminology that it's "Standard" now? 2 wrongs don't make a right.
  6. Ok this is another case of using incorrect terminology: outrigger - a type of canoe (Rob wants to float the roof ) lookout - the guy with the binoculars (CA's trying to rob the Bank ) Correct terminology: outlooker - canitlever support for gable roof eaves. (Standard terminology) Didn't we go thru something similar with "Tray Ceilings"?
  7. The simple answer is csv's have some control characters which: Rich Text understands correctly. Standard Text doesn't. in your case it's probably a control character that standard text thinks is a backspace. It's for that reason that I use txt files which I can read and display in either. btw, Rich Text is almost superfluous for macro output since it can only apply to the entire string (every line). IOW, you will just get one text style.
  8. Sorry Lisa, In the Room Schedule you should just use %interior_area%. The key is that you are already specifying the room. -Joe
  9. You must have saved that plan as a template and set it to be the default template for "New Plans" in Preferences. BTW, you should post questions in the Q&A Forum. "Tips & Techniques" is for sharing how you do something that might help someone else.
  10. Use "Saved Plan Views" in the Plan with unique Layersets. Then when you send to Layout it's all taken care of. Use Layout Layersets only to control the border, grids, etc.
  11. That eliminates some automatic labeling of objects using their NVPs. CAD Details are unfortunately without intelligence.
  12. Lisa, If you have X15 there's a "Volume" Colum. But it appears you are still using X12.
  13. The one on the left appears to fit the bill. Mounting height will need to be checked.
  14. It would help if you will enter your signature data similar to mine below. Knowing what your system hardware and software is makes it much easier for us to help you.
  15. In order to terminate any existing symbol placement. The "Sticky" problem But now I don't seem to need that either - except in those cases where a search isn't being done and it's just one of Chief's default symbols that has it's own Hotkey. A switch or duplex outlet, etc. Evidently it isn't. Seems it was in a previous version but IAE it doesn't hurt.
  16. This is only an issue for me with the StreamDeck_XL. Basically, I had to change all my Library Search Buttons to: Escape or Space Ctrl+L Ctrl+L Delay 1000 ms Ctrl+A select all text in the Search Box Delete Search Text <enter> Tab I could substitute Home Shift+End for the Ctrl+A but it's not a big deal. The key is the Delay 1000 ms.
  17. I added a "1000 ms Delay" before "Home" and it works properly. I tried shorter delays but it was inconsistent. The "1000 ms Delay" even works before "Ctrl+A" It's definitely a difference between the Layout and Plan. I'll probably make it SOP for both just for consistency and safety. Now I wish I could update 3 hotkeys in a row for a multi-action button.
  18. I like the Home, Shift+End, Delete to work with just the text field - but it still doesn't select the text when in Layout. Escape vs Spacebar is just personal preference. Sometimes I use both to make absolutely sure. Even that's not always 100%
  19. Seriously Larry? You marked your own post as the solution?
  20. I use the following string of keystrokes on my StreamDeck_XL for Library Searches: Escape Ctrl+L Ctrl+L Ctrl+A select all text in the Search Box Delete Search Text <enter> Tab This works perfectly when in a Plan View to find the desired folder or object. But in Layout it selects everything on the Layout page and deletes everything --- instead of selecting & deleting all the text in the Search Box. I've reported this to SSA. Hopefully they will find a solution. If anyone else can verify and provide a foolproof solution I would appreciate it.
  21. 3/4" diameter @ 24" oc seems like overkill for 2x_ plates and/or trimmers.
