FWIW, I have a macro solution that lists all doors, drawers, drawer fronts and panels. It displays the details in the cabinet schedule and/or in a formatted text box. The price for this macro package is $75

Hi Rob, All Sheets in the Layout have to be the same size.

I need symbols for ERV / HRV components. Zehnder Q600 & accessories/components would be perfect. Does anyone have that or similar?

Add them to the user library

Hi David, I know of dozens of manufacturers making hi quality face frame cabinets. Many of them have a presence in Chief's library catalogs. Personally have a distributorship for one Face Frame Cabinet Mfr and all parts (face frames, doors, drawer fronts, box sides, tops, bottoms, backs & shelves) are cut with cnc controls. Their dimensional accuracy limits are 1/32". I can put together an order online and get a quote in less than an hour. Face Frames and Door/Drawers usually are solid lumber pieces but cutting, etc is done with cnc. I do realize that a lot of manufactured cabinets are frameless and I also have access to one of them. CA does need to provide correct representation of frameless cabinets.

Just a few quick notes: Some ( maybe most) factory built Cabinets are Face Frame. Chief quite accurately handles these Frameless Cabinets are different and CA should provide for their differences as noted in the above posts. Not all Face Frame Cabinets are "Painted on Site". Most are in fact prefinished in the factory.

User Catalogue (can we have more than one?)
Joe_Carrick replied to JamieW_Campbell's topic in General Q & A
Just create folders and sub-folders within your user library. I have Master Folders for: Layouts Plans Then within those I have additional sub-folders (and in some cases more sub-folders) -
How to texture faces of a slab or 3D solid
Joe_Carrick replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
Exactly. You can then edit each face independently. -
I actually need a load calc. Plan check for this city wants a full panel schedule.
-
I need an Electrician or Electrical Engineer to provide a Panel Schedule for a 2 Storey Residence. The Building Dept wants the Schedule on the plans. Please provide an estimate for this. I will provide a pdf of the electrical floor plans.

Alan, The best way of handling this would to select one of the 42" doors - then select same and set the selection criteria - the open the dbx of the doors that were found and make the change to Single 48". -or- Set those parameters in the Defaults prior to placing the doors in the plan.
-
So, in the door dbx, options panel - select "Single Door". As an alternative in the defaults you can select "Single Door" to prevent the automatic "Calculate from Width". It would be nice if there was a setting for what dimension should be used for "Calculate from Width" instead of the hard coded 48"

You can do that in the Ruby Console

There are a few more things to consider: volume(cu ft)/area(sq ft) = linear (inches) volume(cu ft)*area(sq ft) = derived (nonsense) volume(cu ft)/linear(inches) = area (sq ft) volume(cu ft)/volume(cu ft) = ratio (unitless) area(sq ft)/linear(inches) = linear (inches) area(sq ft)*linear(inches) = volume (cu ft) area(sq ft)/area(sq ft) = ratio (unitless) area(sq ft)/volume(cu ft) = derived (nonsense) area+/-linear = error, not allowed area+/-volume = error, not allowed volume+/-linear = error, not allowed linear(inches)/area(sq ft) = derived (nonsense) linear(inches)/volume(cu ft) = derived (nonsense) There are probably a few more Generally it's best to know what the units are and, if necessary convert to floating point values before the calculations.

Got spooked about the blue by a bad print job

But IMNSHO that should be just for the Display, not for Printing. -

I think it's automatic when color is unchecked. There may have been an option in previous versions of Chief but I don't see it in X15. -
Got spooked about the blue by a bad print job
Joe_Carrick replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
Gene, Is your print service using a printer that suppresses blue? As you may recall, blue was originally intended to not print on some old style machines. -
It's likely that there's a problem with the value type of $a or $b. If $b isn't either a float or integer then the division will fail. I'm pretty sure the Measurement Class doesn't provide for dividing by a measurement.

Arrows and their layers, and SPV for different scale
Joe_Carrick replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
Gene, SPVs are the way to go but you need to have the defaults and layersets set to match the scale. I'm not sure if everything including the arrows will follow the SPVs, but they should. If you drag the arrow from the text (diamond handle) it should be on the same layer as the text. Also check the "Default" for Current CAD Layer. -
Hi woodmaister, The only way this will be addressed by Chief is for lots of users requesting it via suggestions. ie: suggestions@chiefarchitect.com btw, You really should provide a forum signature so we know what version you are using, your computer specs, etc.

Drywall bullnose corners are not handled by Chief. It's been asked for but it's not available and I don't expect it will ever be done.
