  1. There have been several comments about Stairs needing a complete redo. IMO those statements are so vague that CA couldn't possibly know what you want. It would be helpful if there was a list of specific things that aren't available or don't work as desired - along with exact descriptions of how they should work. CA may have done some work on these things in X9 and maybe they didn't. In my experience, specifics are much more likely to get results than vague comments.
  2. The disadvantage is that PSolids are "dumb". They do not have the "Intelligence" of the specific objects. You only get the geometry and you have to control the materials, sizes, colors, line weights, layers, etc manually. The specific objects have all that built in via defaults and have much more that can be edited in their dbx's.
  3. Gerry, I just love how you write Ruby Scripts in hieroglyphics.
  4. Points works FWIW, I'm glad we no longer have the "Solved-Best Answer". Too many users were marking their own post as the "Solved-Best Answer".
  5. So in this case you have a string value. Scroll down to string, select it and then scroll down to see all the available methods. In the case of your strings I used gsub(str1,str2) which changes all matches. You could just use sub(str1,str2) which just changes the first match.
  6. Here's the best reference available http://ruby-doc.org/core-2.2.2/
  7. Mark, string_value.gsub("0.",",") for the 1st one string_value.gsub("0.","") for the 2nd one The gsub method just substitutes characters within a string
  8. Bob, In the Plan View, just create a line that follows the front and side of the cabinets needing the returns. Change that line to a Molding Polyline, add the Crown Molding Profile and set the Height of the Molding. You might need to check or uncheck "Extrude Inside Polyline" depending on the direction you drew the line.
  9. Dan, The reason the Post # is handy: When answering a question, it's nice if we can refer to a previous post in the thread. IOW, if something was said in Post #6 we can refer to that without having to restate it.
  10. Dan, There are a couple of things we evidently lost: Number of downloads of attachments Post # within a Thread Is there any chance of getting those back?
  11. Gene, I lobbied for that capability for a long time. I think we got it in X6 or X7 so it's not a capability that I'm likely to forget
  12. Change the size in the Rails Tab "Beam" of the Railing Wall
  13. I used a single layer wall type.
  14. There are options for squiggle in the Line Drawing Mode and in the Water Color with Line Drawing on Top Mode.
  15. You need to specify it as a "Cabinet Door/Drawer". See pic.
  16. Obviously. When you created the symbol - did you specify that it was to be a "Door" or a "Cabinet Door". There's a difference.
  17. Select "Account Settings" in the dropdown next to your name. Then select "Edit Profile" (small type on the right side)
  18. I would only use those in Vector Views for Elevations. Note that they are simply line drawings and do not have any fill. So if you have them in a Elevation or Section you need to be aware that they will not block out anything behind them.
  19. Same as those I provided the link to above. I first posted those in X4 or X5.
  20. I would suggest you contact Customer Support. OTOH, Pan/Zoom should only be done in Standard or Vector Render modes. What's on your Layout Pages 6-10? Sections and Elevations with "Auto Update"? Turn that off.
  21. Alex, I would model the Fireplace in a separate Plan and convert it to a Symbol. Symbols have intelligence. PSolids are pretty dumb.
  22. Is the view open? There is no fill when the view is open. That's the way Chief shows that any section or elevation is currently open.
  23. Here's a link to the Thread in the old Forum. There are a series of calibz files (50+ images) that you can download from that thread. People Images
  24. Print to PDF, then open in a PDF Editor ( I use NUANCE PDF) and add the water mark in that Program.
  25. Did you ever download the ones I posted about a year ago?
