Soooo why CA imports objects like this?
-
It still did not import properly. Here is Revit And here is what I was looking for ANd here

What is the proper way to import DWG. Sample is taken from JamesHardie Chief Import comes up unreadable in every possible color. Artisan-Lap-Siding-Details-Wood-Framing-Outside-Corner.zip I am aware that CA have CAD LAP Details. 1) Is there function to set import color to black? 2) LIne weight?

Yes you are running 15G1004, but did you update your NVIDIA WEB DRIVER, or at least what version are you running? The error appears in ::setupAngleAndBumpingRestrictions list deallocator reports corruption. Did it just started? Or you had the same errors prior to the Security Update?

>I even got an owners manual when I married Jennie! You got owners manual when you married your wife? What did it say?

>If you want a 2D drawing, I'm sure you can knock that out yourself, though it may be tedious. Yes, and that was the exact reason.

Layout Template Sheet Sets: What do you need?
BrownTiger replied to olyconstruction's topic in General Q & A
I would advise you to ignore the CA "demo" and look into examples that are pasted on this board. Here is joey_martin's he lives not far away from me. https://www.dropbox.com/s/nachngl5rn750gf/New%20Colonial%20Plan%20Set%203_13_16.pdf?dl=0 I took them from https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/9596-intermediate-training-construction-documents/ -
Could be CPU overheating. You need to look at windows event log, for Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power. Get something like HWMonitor to see if CPU runs hot. Error could be driver related. In that case also check with the event log.

And in the "camera view set" check if Ceiling Planes layer is displayed.
-
Change "Default Set" to "Roof Plan Set". Select the offending roof plane edge and move it away from the wall. Post your plan if you need additional help

You did not state what you meant is a "room label". LOL. What is obvious to you is not obvious to others. If you would have stated I would like to add a room type, or a room name it would have been decipherable. Everything below is LABEL Some like: (E) DINING ROOM 10' - 1" CLG TILE FLOOR 12' x 14' But since you are asking about adding rooms names/types to the list of default rooms -> the answer is NO. It has been already suggested.

> - Terrains have an area value but no volume value in the dialogue box I believe because terrain is a surface located at particular elevation value and has no volume. Most excavation companie can not figure this out either so a software works of elevatons: (Highest + lowest ) /2 * area
-
How can anyone guess what you mean by "don't have to re-type them every time"? You do not have to retype room labels. They are controlled by Edit> Default Settings>Rooms>Room Label>Text>
-
You can probably create a ruby macro for a simpler basement case. Or ask Joe_Carrick. May be he will create Macro of the Month Standard Sq ft x room height - (terrain elevation) divided by 27 = CY If you want more precise add 2' for trenching on each size. = Very similar for slab

Sometimes these are caused by anti-virus, spyware, mcAfeee HIPs, etc. Because for some [insane] reason they scan file for infection prior to deleting. DeleteFile, NtDeletefile APIs returning Error code 0x0005 - Access Denied. Most modern software plagued by this, esp if you have large file like 70 Meg plan file. Because of this software is forced to use Async Save / DeleteFile. === I would investigate if this caused by new ANTI-.. And if you can disable scan file on delete operation.

At 700 to 1000 pages plotter could pay off pretty quick. I would still get cheaper ink plotter but replace cartridges with ciss. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KMsPgNzGq0

Start up costs for home based drafting business
BrownTiger replied to jmyers's topic in General Q & A
This is my hobby. My current employer has at least three large format hp plotters on my floor. I know this situation all to well. No drivers. They are not allowed to have unsupported OSs and anything current lacks the drivers. -

I wouldn't buy a large printer. Staples or fedex kinkos can print large format. I would get Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Inkjet Printer for $149.99 after rebate. I paid $50 for mine. It does 13" x 19". Anything larger - staples. As xHP employee I can tell you that many people got burned with large format plotters, as HP phased out drivers. It is nice to own 10k plotter that worked real nicely with windows XP, and no driver since. -

Anyway to split baseline-polyline into two?
BrownTiger replied to BrownTiger's topic in General Q & A
I reproduced number of plans from the Parade of Home(s) as a hobby. Autoroof NEVER worked for me. Not once produced correct result. >Also a lot quicker if there are any changes to the plan. My computer is couple years old and I5. Auto roof rebuild slows me down. And I purchased home designer and will not use it because of roof auto build -

This is for pure learning I needed two RBP one for left structure and one for the right structure, right gable been 30" taller. Convert wizard WILL not convert into RBP, but can convert RBP into something else. Again you can NOT sketch with lines as again we can not convert into RBP. It is rather convenient to specify pitch and VERT-V - vertical VERT-G - gable/shed VERT-K - knee wall VERT-L - lower Because I can get Chief to build just about any type of roof without joining roof planes by hand. It appears that what I was missing were roof groups.
