First Major Crash With New 18.2.0.42 Update...
chief58 replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
Guess my question would be since I haven't down loaded the update is it wise to not download until there is a fix for this so as not to cause more work for myself in having to redo anything that would get lost -

chief58 replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
Haven't seen much more about the crashes with the new update has others seen the samething or has it just been sparatic for some who have updated, I got the update message but haven't done the update yet to much of a work load to have to redo things with the update Thanks -
JT not sure what you have without seeing it but try to shift select the section you want to change the railing on and when open change the railing as desired that might do what you want, just remember to shift select the section first

chief58 replied to kylejmarsh's topic in General Q & A

If it worked on a wall then you had the wrong tool to do the break, there are 2 different tools one for wall break and the other for line break
-
Its a good idea to get use to using the 3 key as a break for lines like roofs and also the 2 key for connecting roofs, most of my roofs are done manually cause that works better for me
-
did you try and select the roof and select the number 3 key to try and break it that way, or maybe close Chief and do a reboot to see if that helps, just a few quick thoughts

Thanks Michael much appreciated that fixed it, guess I don't understand there reasoning since whenever I built a deck it had the floor jsts and then the decking I had the planking under floor finish thinking it would be the decking which it did show the finish with not framing, not looking at it when it says jsts and planking once I got rid of the floor finish and just put in the floor jsts and the planking as the decking it worked out, thank you again you saved me a few hairs
-
Thanks for looking David

I am trying to frame a deck and it isn't showing the deck framing for some reason, I do have them check to show and there is a plus sign next to the display, could someone take a look and see before I pull what is left of my hair out Thank you Mattioli 04.02.16-FRAMING .zip

Sending Elevation View to Layout.. Always B&W
chief58 replied to A_Joseph_PE's topic in General Q & A
are you sending them life or with with plot checked, life makes the lines look big -
you can do the same thing for a layout sheet and set it as a profile layout plan, then when you open it each time it would be the default that you set it to
-
if you put or do a detail in a cad detail window and save it to your profile plan it will always be there
-
try this video should help you https://video.chiefarchitect.com/?search=plan
-
your profile plan is a master plan set, once you get it as you want you can make it a personnel one
-
There is a pdf print within Chief, when you select the print you should be able to pick that one and then set the paper size you want to print, I am not at my computer with Chief on it but I do this all the time to send to clients and lumber yard, it works flawlessly
