  1. Hi Glenn , is it possible for you to save that plan so I can open it in X5 please ? you must have file locking on in the Prefs?, thanks again, Mick.
  2. Saw you other post thx for the reply .......Cant you work in X5 please some nice Stuff , maybe one day i'll be able to use it.Thx.
  3. I see that wall framing turn up when I have Energy Heel Trusses too , which means the exterior wall ply and Finish must go upto the bottom of the top chord , not sure how many Framer's would actually build a wall there , it's more likely to be a solid block eg a 2x10" or 2x 12" depending on the Energy heel height. Looks like your Rafter depth is set different from the Truss top chord depth for the drywall issue? M.
  4. Old Issue for me with an undocked library too , also using 3 monitors M.
  5. Apologies for not getting back to this earlier Glenn , yes that looks just about perfect , I'll download your Rail2 zip file and hopefully I can open it and figure it out alongside your Description. thanks a lot for the time taken. Not sure why CA makes it so diffircult though it's been an EON since you were allowed deck mounted posts or posts notched around the double Rim , you cant model post inside the rim or outside the fascia the only to acceptable solutions for Timber Post, in elevation/cross Section the don't extend below the decking either so you have to Draw in those parts yourself.... thankfully not to often. M.
  6. I've only seen that when I didn't realise I wasn't logged in for some reason , ever tried hitting the back button from the search results after looking at a link? everytime I get a webpage expired message. have to reload hit yes try again etc etc.... if you hit back again you end up back on the forum and do you whole search again. M.
  7. Not sure if it happens in X6 and maybe not your issue but one issue I've had is CA defaults to using the Primary Screen's configured Video Card , so if the Primary screen isn't using the Nvidia card you can end up with it using the other Card. Are you using or have you used Dual displays or been hooked to a TV? In my case I have 2 cards but 3 screens so I need to make sure the Primary Window is set on the NVidia Card ( you can see this in the NVidia panel under "setup Multiple Displays") not the other card. the Primary window has the * in the corner and it should match the number above of the Nvidia Card. M.
  8. Any chance you can update your Ikea Lib. download ? maybe just me but each time I goto MediaFire the webpage locks up , perhaps you can split it so you can post here ? ( 10mb limit) Thanks Brink. M.
  9. Thanks Brink , just wondering if your symbols only work for X6 users or for older versions too eg X5 or X4 ?
  10. Thanks Joe , those windows work well , they are on the Furniture ,Exteriors layer so I switched it them to Windows Layer , I assume that's no issue right? definitely easier than messing with the Bay window tool so thanks again. M.
  11. Not sure 100% but only HD Arch. and HD Pro can do Vector view and Elevations , so he is stuck with Camera view only. Some titles deliberately block some of the 3d view too ,eg you cant see the whole foundation ...nothing below ground , unless that change in recent titles ? M.
  12. We'll have to wait for enlightenment till 3pm PST minimum? , its 3AM in Oz
  13. Thanks for taking the time Joe , much appreciated, will try and play with these later. Mick.
  14. I saw this on HomeTalk , and thought the same as you, but he has HD Suite so doesn't have Vector view , so Print to PDF may be an option?...
  15. Guess I'm missing something yes pretty much , except we have to place a post either side in the Corner about 2 1/2 back , as we aren't allowed to Notch 4x4 posts at all (Code) so each Corner needs two. Can it be made to follow down the Staircase too ? Thanks Glenn
  16. "quote" With no base cabinet I think the Soffit Tool is the easy Solution unless you have X6 of course with custom backsplashes. someone may followup on this: If you have a wall cabinet above your hood ,but still have the slide in Range ,does trying the checkbox for "build backsplash down to Base cabinet" , in the Wall cabinets DBX, build it down to 36" counter height or not? , not sure it works if there is no base cabinet? Yes me It is possible to use the Wall cabinet's Backsplash checkbox to generate a backsplash down to the Countertop Or lower as seen in the images . I made the base cabinet standard width BUT made it 1/2 thick and 1/2" high ( making higher changed it's look) ...it looks like the baseboard in the image, but still allows a standalone range to be slide in.
  17. True , might be the only answer , though I was hoping I was just missing something, the Standard Railing is fine but it has to sit On the deck or Stairs. M.
  18. Is it possible with the Standard Railing tools to Fascia Mount Deck posts ? specifically 4x4 is used here a lot and using this method opens up another 6-8" of deck space which can be important on smaller Decks. I know I can use the "Newel Offset" box in the DBX but that only moves the Newel , not the whole Railing it seems. Have I missed something or do I need a Custom Built symbol ? to achieve this ? Thanks. M.
  19. this idea of using the free Oracle VM mentioned in another thread may work too or better than the MS XpMode VM too. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/1174-chief-architect-10-on-windows-81/#entry9347
  20. appreciate it Joe . Never made symbols , just a few Blocks , so if it is made in one version it is only good for that version or newer versions ? just curious as I see symbols on the other Forum but most I can't use , not having X6. M.
  21. Ok thanks ...I'm not on X6 , so please post as X5 or earlier ( multi version possible?) thanks. M.
  22. Thx Joe but don't waste too much time if it's a big deal but if you have them a 36hx36w or 36hx48w would work since its normally above the Kitchen Sink so would go in 42" off the floor. I assume it's not resizable then from your comment? Mick
  23. Hi Joe, did you post those windows for X5 on the old forum ? I'd like to look at them if possible... Thx. Mick
  24. The calibz file is a standard zipped folder/file, though 7zip / WinZip / WinRAR etc may not recognise it as such , you can use one of them to open the exported file (Or any calibz file) , mind you the file will no doubt be huge, possibly in the GB's area if you exported ALL libraries to one file... M.
  25. All Libraries can be exported for backup, eg to an Ext. HD if you don't want to download them all again but it does take a bit of work.... M.
