If you SSA is current there will be and upgrade button to click , then you will see the download for X13 They should work as you have Roof Planes but you may need to look into Manual Dormers in the KB ...I rarely use Auto Dormers these days btw, They won't be fun either way if Mansard and Gambrel Roofs are anything to judge by , but if you don't need "clean" 3D images of the interior it might be ok. Sounds like there are some new Options in X13, it is still a lot of Extra Work, that shouldn't be necessary especially since the Framing Schedule can already do it auto. and would be pretty cumbersome with multiple materials as Tony mentioned. M.

the basics..... Yes ....you can add or make a new material ..... NO ....the materials list will always say FIR .... the ML is Hard Coded to call all Framing FIR But the Framing Schedule uses the Material Name for the material

If it is the MacBook with the Nvidia Card as well as the Iris Pro, make sure Chief is using the Nvidia Card 1st ( Preferences>Render Tab) but it is possible the Nvidia Card is too old to Support Shader 6.0 or above which is required for the new X13 Graphics Engine. People on the PC side are running into the same issue with older Nvidia Cards eg in the 700 Series and Lower models. I suggest Starting a Tech Support case via your Digital Locker as Chief has just released a KB Article ( below) for Windows to determine the Shader Model. Your's is the 1st report I have seen on a Mac of this issue. * Note that even if you buy a new MAC , although you will have all the Standard X12 views MACS do not support the new Graphics Engine Chief has brought in this year , it is currently supported on PC only. I use a Marker in Layout , not the Layout Box Labels with the Upper Line using %layout.title% which it pulls from the (Edit) Page Info Tab ( same name as Title-Block) and for the lower line I normally do it manually as I copy and paste it to different pages and Box_scale does not work as it is not referenced to the Box, but it is quick as you only need to change it once in a while if they are in your Layout Template on the pages already . as you can see in pic I added the word Kitchen before %layout.title% with a quick edit for this page.......

Provide some lighting? are there recessed cans, a Bar light or sconces by Mirror ? and Turn up the Ambient Daylight and Interior Ambient under Techniques to around 48-50 to start ( I have this set in my Template now ) M.

I'd recommend keeping your Schedule in it's Own CAD Detail for more control on sending to Layout and not slowing Plan Views down. If you make these ONCE in your Template Plan you will never have to do it again and they will update as you draw and place objects.

Patterns do NOT effect 3D Images , only the "Lines" seen in Vector Views. See if this Post in Tips helps you make a suitable 3D image..... Mick.

Ahhh, maybe so , while in Beta I left X13 "Clean" and never noticed this but I let the Public release migrate the other Day , so it looks like you are right as I had a look in X12 and they are there , so you can go to your X12 Data Folder > Toolbars and copy the MEP.png and MEP Configuration .Toolbar to the same folder in X13 , that way you won't have to migrate them all. Do the same for the (2) K+Bath Files

I found both with MEP and Kitchen and Bath searches, not the word configuration , not sure why that didn't work though??? I personally have an Extended CUSTOM Toolbar , so I didn't add these back myself -- no need

You are right on the bare minimum..... 4gb of ram would be better and 16 for the computer...... Per another post the card must Support DX12 - Shader Model 6.0 and my guess is the 710 does not do Shader Level 6, ( see sys. reqs.) the same as the other Poster's GTX660, he had a AMD Radeon which did support it, so is good now. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/31220-x13-video-artifact/?do=findComment&comment=246330 M. * on the Nvidia Side I think you may need to go to a 900 Series minimum to get Shader 6 and above. So 900, 1000 or 1660 series on the budget end - or stay with X12 for now..... I would suggest a look on your local CL or FB Marketplace for a 2nd hand card perhaps.....

due to the age of your current system I would consider a Prebuilt Desktop Computer with a 3000 Series Nvidia Graphics card ( most cost effective way to get a 3000 series RTX card currently) If that isn't in the budget then a cheap 9/10 or 16 series Nvidia card maybe ok, to get you 3D views at least but no PBR-RT or Clay cameras. But do make sure it is using the latest Intel Drivers incase they do support X13? M.
