SOLVED - Stainless Steel appliances turn white in X13. Why?
Kbird1 replied to PIR-Designs's topic in General Q & A
Yes the Hardware , see below Chopsaw's and My Post's , you don't have a Signature at all...... and in this case the Hardware is/could be important to know David did a Tip on adding it a while back here : -
That's why there has been a surge in conversions to Chief Interiors or Premier from 2020 in the last year or so..... Interiors is Cheaper than a 1yr Sub. of Design Live Mick.

Thanks for Sharing Robert ! Mick.

SOLVED - Stainless Steel appliances turn white in X13. Why?
Kbird1 replied to PIR-Designs's topic in General Q & A
There are a number of Graphics Issues in X13 related to the new Graphics Engine and it having issues with certain Videocards ie older Nvidia cards and some AMD as well. Drivers may just need updating ? see Prefs.>Render Tab You really need to do your Sig. ( top right>Username>Account ) and add those details Mick -
perhaps as 2D elevations via DWG , but not as a 3D Kitchen unless 2020 can export to .3DS or .SKP etc? Mick.

Setting default cabinet frame and panel thickness
Kbird1 replied to HarryOrd's topic in General Q & A
A "Framed" cabinet construction type will let you set Stile widths but I think the cabinet sides are hard coded at 3/4" (19mm) . A few pics of the real thing will likely give us ideas on how to build it in Chief. Mick. -
In the past I have had to turn down the Sun Lumens really low in the Cameras just before exporting to the 3D Viewer, ( and switch back later) not sure if that will help in this case or not or it is related to the issues seen in the other thread linked above. Mick.

Might explain why I haven't heard from a Client in regards to his Review of the Permit Set I sent out last week, if he can simple remove the Watermark.... wow ...Will have to rethink that Practice I guess..... I have seen warnings about Redacted Text still being readable in some cases, ( below) but not Editable. https://www.ca4.uscourts.gov/caseinformationefiling/efiling_cm-ecf/technical-information/flatten-pdf-fillable-form I even do "flattening" to my Invoices this way now, after finding out a Client years ago altered some Excel based Invoices for Tax and Rebate reasons.... M.

Not in X13 ...it still ain't great on a PC even...at least for me... M.

I Print to PDF with Chief and then sometimes if I need a smaller File size, I Print that PDF with BullZip PDF Printer which Claims it is "flattening" as it Prints the PDF but with X13 I have found that the PDF is often larger in file size than smaller. Any PDF with Fillable Areas usually needs to be "Flatten" so it can't be altered afterwards by anyone ie Legal or other Govt. Forms. this is from WI , but many States have something similar posted. How to Flatten PDFs.pdf A Direct Print to BullZip PDF Printer sometimes has a slightly different look to it than than Printing to Chief PDF Printer 1st.

Sorry, I forgot to mention in some cases you have to open the symbol ( not object ) and set the X,Y and/or Z to 0" depending on the object, once dropped on the Floor, other you may not see it in 3D, I was thinking sink but for a wall oven the y maybe 22" or something so it "inserts into the cabinet at the right depth. And for good measure while the symbol is open , re-generate the CAD Block too..... Now save it to your Library , so you don't need to do that all again next week M.
-
Try 3 invisible Walls which should give you a room , set ceiling height as needed then draw roof planes over the 3 Walls Mick.
-
did you try not embedding the Sink ? - place it on the floor in front of the Cabinet and open it, and set it's height , then use the CTRL Key to slide it into the Cabinet.

I think easily with Polyline Solids , but as Eric said some pics of this Aussie Shower System would help here as mostly but not all Users are Nth.American based. M. -
Both cards seem to support Shader 6 , so you might have found another bug in the AMD Drivers mentioned above AMD released a consumer driver the Adrenalin 21.6.1 version to resolve some issues in X13 that were on their end.
-
it has some issues in X13 , couple of posts in the Beta Forum about it....... Dermot suggested the Clients get the 3D Viewer App instead - they have to request it..... but I think that mean handing over the .Plan File? M.

Blasphemy here on the Forum --- you'll will be Banned ! just joking ..... AutoCad Arch. ? no wonder you don't have 12 replies already , I had to look and see why not.... Good luck with the search.... Mick.

And if you have Premier , you don't need to pay for libraries........ just make sure to sign into your account on the 3D Library Page. Mick.

New Computer Help - file path from old computer not matching new user
Kbird1 replied to Billda's topic in General Q & A
Try putting the Logos in the X13 Textures Folder , it is one Place Chief Looks for missing images/textures if it can't find them in the Plan Folder or the library. Once working again open the Logos in Chief and make sure the "Save in Plan" Box is Checked so you can't lose them again -

Best to do your signature as some questions require different answers depending on the version in use.... M. -

If you SSA is current there will be and upgrade button to click , then you will see the download for X13 They should work as you have Roof Planes but you may need to look into Manual Dormers in the KB ...I rarely use Auto Dormers these days btw, They won't be fun either way if Mansard and Gambrel Roofs are anything to judge by , but if you don't need "clean" 3D images of the interior it might be ok. Mick -
Sounds like there are some new Options in X13, it is still a lot of Extra Work, that shouldn't be necessary especially since the Framing Schedule can already do it auto. and would be pretty cumbersome with multiple materials as Tony mentioned. M.

Probably best as Chopsaw mentioned ........you should have X13 in your digital locker for download too if you just got Premier.... Mick. -
Quonset Gluelam Rib Construction (Not a Barrel Roof)
Kbird1 replied to DHunter7's topic in General Q & A
the basics..... Back clipped Cross Section through Hut > Cad Menu > CAD Detail from View > gets shape of Rib , make sure it is a closed Polyline ( fix if needed) and Copy >paste/hold back into the Cross Section and then convert to Polyline Sold ( yellow Parallelogram with wand above it on edit toolbar ) then change the material to Wood/steel etc as P.Solids are always concrete when 1st built/made this is a Vid. on a similar technique with P.Solids https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/10109/quick-tip-timber-frame-truss.html -
Yes ....you can add or make a new material ..... NO ....the materials list will always say FIR .... the ML is Hard Coded to call all Framing FIR But the Framing Schedule uses the Material Name for the material
