You should do your Signature....not the same thing as the Profile , so everyone knows you have X13, you should be able to see mine and Mark's above unless you have turned Signatures off ? check this Video for how to do your Sig. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662 Mick.

It sounds like to me you are using one of the Home Designer Titles ? Not Chief Premier or Interiors , in which case you can't import the Other Defaults either, unless that changed in the 2022 of the Home Designer Titles? ( see File>Import>Default Settings ) When watching Videos or even on the Knowledgebase, make sure the Version you are using is listed as applicable to your Title. HomeTalk is the Forum for the Home Designer Titles and the place to ask questions , as most here on ChiefTalk have never used the Home Designer Titles, and answer are frequently related to the Version in use. https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/ M.

Unfortunately there is no backward compatibility , but She could Use the Export 3D Viewer Option which is web-based or you can download the 3D Viewer App or Desktop Client as well. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/resources/viewerrequest.php For just Floor plans a DWG or DXF export/Import might work too?

For those still using CPU Raytrace , (vs PBR) for example on the MAC Os , Graham Korbey's thread called Let's Ray Trace is likely still one of the best, for Info regarding Raytracing....

Images like on a Coverpage could be 2-3mb each easily depending on the screen size/resolution, especially if they are Screen grabs and imported as Images, at least in older versions the Send to Layout Image direct was pretty low Quality (72dpi?) it seemed. I am not sure about X13 but in earlier Version the PDF Module was done by a 3rd Party ( the only Code not Chief's AFAIAA) , so maybe that is a factor? M.

Bullzip is a Free PDF Printer , I used it for many years , until recently when I got TurboPDF (TurboCAD product) , for a more full fledged product. https://www.bullzip.com/

concrete Poured footers and slab on a sloped terrain

Glad to hear you got it sorted out, you'll find there are many here willing to help with questions. Don't forget the F1 Key for context sensitive help while you work as well. Mick. -
concrete Poured footers and slab on a sloped terrain
Kbird1 replied to AKnightClark's topic in General Q & A
It appears you have made the Floor a 4" Slab for level one ( good) but have not created the Foundation Level (0) which will give you the walls shown in the Stepped Foundation Article. Have you begun working through the Tutorial Guide? ( see Help Menu if not ) see page 49 for the basic technique to build the Stem walls. Mick. -
You shouldn't need too when setup right but.... 1.) you haven't set level 1 to have a 8' Ceiling ( Roof builds off top plate at back hence needs to be 96" ) 2.) you need the Correct pitch ( 4 5/8 /12" ) .........which can easily be found with a few CAD Lines - Draw 3 lines representing the Front wall and Back wall and the distance between them - Use the Close Polygon Icon to close the Box - Open Closed Polygon after selecting sloped line and get angle.... change number style to read as pitch/12 3.) put pitch into Roof build DBX and auto build Roof

I can recommend 7zip to everyone , it is Free, and adds a nice right click Menu, I have used it for years and is currently at Version 19 (stable) , most people will need the X64 .msi Installer version from here : https://www.7-zip.org/download.html The main features of 7-Zip High compression ratio in 7z format with LZMA and LZMA2 compression Supported formats: Packing / unpacking: 7z, XZ, BZIP2, GZIP, TAR, ZIP and WIM Unpacking only: AR, ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, CramFS, DMG, EXT, FAT, GPT, HFS, IHEX, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MBR, MSI, NSIS, NTFS, QCOW2, RAR, RPM, SquashFS, UDF, UEFI, VDI, VHD, VMDK, WIM, XAR and Z. For ZIP and GZIP formats, 7-Zip provides a compression ratio that is 2-10 % better than the ratio provided by PKZip and WinZip Strong AES-256 encryption in 7z and ZIP formats Self-extracting capability for 7z format Integration with Windows Shell Powerful File Manager Powerful command line version Plugin for FAR Manager Localizations for 87 languages 7-Zip works in Windows 10 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP / 2019 / 2016 / 2012 / 2008 / 2003 / 2000. The Line should be continuous around the Home , Chief does however try to "guess" where it should turnoff the Band eg. at Doors, Windows, Decks etc and doesn't always get it right , so you will likely need to turn the molding back on in some sections, Chief thought should be off. With the Molding Line selected just select the small edit handle between the break Nodes and the 2nd or 3rd icon (?) from last on your edit Toolbar should let you turn the Molding Profile back on for that Section. Mick.

was wondering about that.......you should be able to Edit the Wall in an Elevation View.
-
You should be able to force them off with the No Railing>Apply to all edges in each Landings DBX *beaten

I think he is as I don't think Chief can do those stairs using the Stair Tool, P.Solids would also work PS best to use screen snips not PDFs so people can see directly in the Forum....

It's not automatic , you could use a Exterior Room Moulding Polyline if it goes around the whole home ( ie is the Frieze under soffits too.) (same way you'd do the Band / Watertable down lower in the Pic.) https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00070/adding-a-belly-band-to-a-structure.html Or a Molding Line or a Polyline Solid both Drawn in Elevation

Yes both are listed on Chief's Known incompatibilities webpage which I have also reposted to a Thread in the Tips Forum for Forum Users to Find. There is also a fuller Post on the Nahimic Issue related to multiple monitors in the Tips forum.

There is no cheaper way than to pay the SSA each year to stay current , that being said I would say X11 minimum , and X12 better, especially on the Render side. On the Render side X13 only offers benefits for PC users with a RTX 2/3000 Card. ( you have no forum signature with current version or OS listed which many help with better advice ) M.

Select the Cabinet , then hit TAB to skip to the next nearest object. M.

It should work with the Shower Wall set as a Partition Wall , at least in this situation in X13 it does as the Shower Wall is defined as a Partition by default. * I am not sure if it works in all cases as I have not tested.

Wall invisible in 3D, but wall is not invisible?
Kbird1 replied to Rander91's topic in General Q & A
Nope , that's what I tried to say , not well apparently ...... we've had (software) PBR since X10 , they then started work on the new Astral Engine for the RTX hardware for Real Time (Hardware) Raytracing. The 10 series and 16 Series can use the RTX APIs/Code after Nvidia allowed it in their Driver about 2 yrs ago, but it is via software methods and much too slow in most situations and Chief removed it during Beta as even the 2000 series is significantly slower than the 3000 Series Cards. Wall invisible in 3D, but wall is not invisible?
Kbird1 replied to Rander91's topic in General Q & A
I believe the 1080 will show the Original PBR views after Chief decided the 10 series weren't fast enough due to not having RTX Cores, I don't think the 1660 does either , but it should show on the Render TAB > VideoCard Status ....if RT-PBR is available. ie : Hardware (Real-Time) Raytracing. Couple of thoughts ....make sure all roof planes are joined properly especially since it is vaulted to avoid light leaks and I don't see any lighting in the Vaulted room at all which will cause Chief to add it's own "automatic light" if you don't provide it yourself. You would have to ask them if it is not posted on the Web like S.Williams colours , the Hex Value will work too. Perhaps suggest they supply a fully Library for use in Chief if you use them regularly. There are also color convert websites like this one ....but I don't see REEB. https://convertingcolors.com/list/sherwin-williams.html https://convertingcolors.com/list/benjamin-moore.html Mick

Yes both on ANNO Proposed Dims Layer I figured you had hit the Auto Exterior Dims Button twice to try and refresh them without thinking and then realized it wasn't on and reset it to auto refresh but that still leaves the original set underneath hiding till you move something. M.
-
I thought perhaps you had clicked twice on the auto button when Auto Refresh was off..... let me look at plan.... yep 2 sets of Exterior dims apparently, not just the ones you have in RED.... when pulled to side Edit>Delete Objects>Auto Dims and do again seems to fix it.... or do it manually so you don't perhaps lose all the Dims on the Plan if important --- or try in a save as plan 1st.
