Changing deck railing thickness pushes railing off the edge

The plan you posted does not have a deck so here is some more general information that may help you. Deck railings are always centered in the deck wall. Making the deck wall thicker or thinner will allow you to offset the deck railing further in or out but only up to a point. You can't move the deck railing past the outside of the deck perimeter once the wall thickness is as small as it can go. You may also have to specify a different wall type for your deck railing if you need to make a thinner deck wall. The width of your rails can be set to be independent of your wall thickness. You need to first uncheck the Full Wall Width option on the Rails panel to do this. You can also offset the newel posts separately from the railing. This can be useful in certain other situations but I doubt this is what you want to do in your case. From the pictures you posted, I am guessing that you want to make the deck wall thicker, not thinner, to get the posts placed where you want them and then turn off the Full Wall Width option so you can set the rail thickness to what you want. -
There are several different things you can do. First, you can specify the maximum distance between the newel posts in the railing specification dialog. The default spacing is probably something like 8' and you can always set this to be a much larger value. Second, you can better control the newel post locations by adding breaks to your railing walls. The program will automatically place a newel post at any breaks or other intersections. And lastly, if all else fails, you can simply remove all of the automatic posts by specifying "No Post" on the Rail Style panel.

You probably need to go into your Drawing Sheet Setup and make some adjustments. To match what you would normally see in Premier, you need to turn off the option for Home Designer compatibility and set the line weight scale to 1/100 mm. You may or may not need to make adjustments to the line weights in your Layer Display Options dialog, your wall types, and any cad objects. This will depend on how old of a version of Home Designer the plan was originally created in. If all else fails, you could always try copying the model into a new blank plan using the Edit Area tool. You probably have two window schedules. The trick is finding the other one. It could be hiding on a layer that is turned off, in a cad detail, or in a cross section or elevation view.

The short answer is because the program isn't smart enough to find the backsplash in all possible cases. In this particular plan, the backsplash is being built by the wall cabinet above the outlet. There are actually two walls behind the wall cabinet (see picture below). The center of the wall cabinet determines that it is attached to the wall on the right. The center of the outlet determines that it is attached to the wall on the left. Because the outlet and the wall cabinet are not on the same wall, the outlet does not know how to find the backsplash. To solve the problem I would use Michael's suggestion of specifying the distance from the wall. You could also use Chopsaw's solution of modifying the symbol data. I would not recommend making the backsplash thinner because that would still leave a portion of the outlet hidden. In the future, I would encourage you to report problems like this to our tech support team so that we can make improvements to these problem situations.

At this time, X11 does not support the Autocad 2018/2019 file formats. Originally it was going to but we found a number of problems with the library we are using and we had to remove it while we are waiting on fixes for them. So for now, you will need to make sure your DXF/DWG files are written in the Autocad 2013/2014/2015/2016/2017 file format (or earlier) in order to import them into X11. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The majority of our existing customers take advantage of our SSA program which is the least expensive way to stay current and includes our premium technical support. In order to get a discount on an upgrade order, a human has to manually verify your information which can only be done during business hours. We don't have to manually verify any new orders as long as you provide a valid payment. Regardless of whether you are a brand new customer or a very old customer, our tech support is still only available during business hours.

Scott is probably correct, your color is off and you just need to turn it back on. Regarding tech support being closed, the are open today but they turn off the phones during their weekly meeting on Thursday mornings.

Do you want the schedule callout or a normal label? If you want the schedule callout, open the schedule dialog and turn on "Use Callout For Label". If you want the normal label, open the furniture dialog and turn on "Specify Label" and set it to what you want. There is no automatic label for your custom furniture object because the symbol you created does not have a name. You could also give your symbol a name in the Open Symbol dialog.

HOW TO COPY STAIRCASE FROM ONE FLOOR TO ANOTHER

If your stair has Automatic Heights turned off, then you will see this behavior. The stair heights are absolute heights and not relative to the floor. You will either need to turn Automatic Heights back on or adjust your stair heights for the floor you are on. -
All you really need to do is change the note type. All of your electrical notes should have the type set to "Electrical Notes". All of your mechanical notes can have the type set to "HVAC Notes". Or, if you prefer, you could create a new note type called "Mechanical Notes" in the Note Type Management dialog. You can then setup each schedule to only include the appropriate note types.

Are you using X10 or X11 Premier? If you are using an older version of the program you will not have this feature. You may want to add your program version to your signature. Also, you do not need to post your question twice. You should probably delete your other post.

Based on the number of down votes you have received, it looks like some people don't agree with you. Regardless, it is still very easy to change what displays on your reference by first clicking on the Change Floor/Reference button (the one that shows the current floor) and then clicking on the Define box in the reference display table. See the picture below. I would suggest that if you are frequently changing what is displayed in your reference layer set that instead of constantly turning layers on and off you should setup some new reference display layer sets instead. It will be more efficient to simply change your reference layer set than it is to frequently change what's displayed in it. Whether you are using only one reference floor or several, this should be a faster way to work. If you find that you really can't get used to the new changes, then you should send in a suggestion asking us to bring back the old tool. This would be a much more effective way of getting the changes you want.

It very well could be a problem with your video card or the drivers. Out of date video card drivers are the number one cause of camera view problems. If all of your other camera view tools work fine, but none of the overview tools do, then it could also be something wrong in your model. If you have something in your model very far away from the rest of the model or something that shoots way out, then this could mess up the way the program calculates the center of the model for the overviews. If all else fails, then you should contact tech support during normal business hours for additional help

I suspect that you did not. If all you did was uninstall the program and then reinstall it, then technically you did not do a "clean" install. Uninstalling the program does not remove any data from your user data folder. Your templates and associated textures/maps are saved in the user data folder. The only way to get the updated templates and textures are to rename or delete the templates folder in your user data folder. Also, the siding texture is actually white but the material blends it with the color blue to get blue siding. And I will remind everyone, if you find any additional problems after you have updated your templates and core libraries, you should report them to our technical support team the same way you would report any other program bugs.

I believe the content team has already corrected the problem with the incorrect normal map. If you are still seeing the problems in any or our template files, you should try updating them by renaming your templates folder in your user data folder. If you are seeing any problems with the materials in the core libraries, you should try updating these by using the Update Library Catalog tool from the Library menu. If you find any additional problems after you have updated your templates and core libraries, you should report them to our technical support team the same way you would report any other program bugs.

We install new templates (and lots of other things) whenever you install or update the program. These files get installed with the program executable in your system folders unless you choose to install it somewhere else. When you first run the program, we will copy these files into your user data folder but only when they are not already there. If you migrate your templates from an earlier version or if you have previously installed the program, you may not have the latest versions of these files. If you want to make sure you are using the most current version, you can always rename your user data folder and when you next run the program it will copy the newest versions from the install folder. Please be sure to always backup and keep your own custom templates in a safe place. You don't want to accidentally delete them and have to rebuild them. If you are having any problems, please feel free to contact tech support for additional help.

Propagate Revision Description throughout entire set?

If you are adding revisions in the Layout Page Information dialog, I believe it can only be for a single page. If you add a revision using the Add Layout Revision tool, you can add it to the current page or to a range of pages. -
