Seems like a pretty unusual request. No idea how you would do that. Curious to see if anyone else replies with an answer.
-
Can you elaborate on how to do that? An example maybe.
-
Here is one example of what I was thinking but I don't know how I would make a line style like this to be automatic to where you can just select and drag. The most used by me would be a 2% and 5% Any ideas or thoughts?

Anyone want to share how they show direction of grade on site plan? I always use individual arrows with percentage of grade and just place them around the house as needed. Wondering what other ways I can display grade slope percentage. Most of my projects are 2 to 5 percent and I don't need to set terrain so I leave it flat. So the elevation data wont work. Your thought and suggestions would be appreciated

The reason I was having the problem was because I had one wall placed against the other so I didn't have the options for room definition. So I moved my wall out and made a room so I had the option and then it was fine. Thank you for your response.
-
Thank you Perry, I figured it out. I just made it a room rather than to have one wall up against the other.

How do I do that because it wont select as a room? I tried to post the plan but forgot the procedure to do that.

Missing Drywall: It seems like I had this problem once before but for the life of me I cant remember how to fix it. I tried to go through all the wall settings. Please help if you can

I always do an As-Built drawing and use it for my demo plan and when I start the revisions I save it as new plan. Then you can send each one to layout.

I know where this dialog box. I will try to ask the question better; If I want a surface mount light to set automatically in a bedroom and a can light to automatically set in a laundry room or hallway, how can I set that? Or is it even possible? I'm talking about automatic placement, not having to go in the library and get it. Chief can change this but can we?

Anyone that can answer, When you place one of these fixtures, depending on the room type and where you place it such as a wall or ceiling they will automatically change to what is required for the condition. Such as a vanity light, wall sconce, can light.... My question: Is there a way to change those default settings?

Thats great! The last job I did was 4800 square feet and the cost was 15k

I have a plan for a fire sprinkler system from a previous job you can use as an example if you want it? It was the final plan submitted to the city. I would want to send it directly to you if you want it. Let me know

One of those unsolved mysteries! -
If your looking for someone this guy is very user friendly. They will do new and remodel. Maybe he will send you an example plan. Tell him I sent you as referral if you want. Chopsaw posted this June 2nd, 2019 for the same questions; Go to your plot plan layerset and turn off or lock anything that needs to stay in position and then use CTRL A and transform replicate to rotate everything at once including the north arrow. -
Thank you for sharing I thought I was loosing my mind thinking I created it! You would think the patio would have the same settings as the porch as far as electrical is concerned. The only difference between the two is the patio is slab on grade and in the back yard and the porch is usually off the front entrance (slab or raised).

It was kind of strange. When I put two vanity cabinets side by side the auto place outlets would not work but when I separate them it works fine. If I take out one of the sinks it works fine also.
-
Everything is resolved now. Thank you!
-
I don't remember doing it but I must have at some point.
-
Yes, I thought because it is an exterior wall the light would automatically place as an exterior light just like it did at back deck. However, I changed the patio to a porch and it worked as an exterior light. I didn't really know there was a difference between a patio and a porch as far as the electrical settings. Both are still exposed to the elements.

Yes I clicked in the second bathroom and the outlets didn't place but the lights did.
