  1. Thank you! This and the other program so far recommended are great but are so far apart from each other for what they can do. I have my research cut out for me. I'm not even sure what I want or need until I research it.
  2. Bob, Can you give me an Idea for cost of this program? Looks like I have to subscribe to find out. I just need to know if this is something that is affordable first and I'm not over buying. It looks like it is a very powerful program. Thank You
  3. Checking it out now. Thank You
  4. Can you be a little more specific on the name of it? Several different types or Viewers come up in a search
  5. Good morning from wonderful Michigan! I'm looking for a program that I can use to markup PDF's and other documents like a plan checker would do for corrections or as I have seen some of you do to help other on the forum. I have "Adobe DC" but the markup capabilities are limited and the windows "snipping tool" isn't near advanced enough. Does anyone have suggestions for me for what I'm looking for? Some of these programs out their like "eCopy" can be very expensive and I don"t mind spending some money but I don't want it to break the bank account either. Any help or direction would be much appreciated.
  6. Its hard to make out your picture. Is that a monkey on your back?
  7. Thank you for the direction. I might be able to work with that after a little more tweaking.
  8. I don't often have to do balconies over decks but when I do, I run into this problem of the post disappearing and the handrail post not working together. Is there a way to get this to work together or do I have to put in post and place the railing in between them? Cabin.plan
  9. Yes, you are young! "Sanford and Son" was a classic. It was one of my favorites Hope I didn't offend you I was just kidding around
  10. Just coming up with this actor in his day reveals you must not be a young buck
  11. Have to go out for a few hours so I will try symbols when I get back. Haven't worked with symbols in a while so I have to check the help.
  12. I may have to manually put the rafters in and turn off the rafters layer Unless someone else has easier way another way.
  13. I tried to run a roof from the top down and putting a negative pitch but it recognized the lower portion as the eaves
  14. Anyone know how I can get a radius on both ends? Its not recognizing the top as rafter tails.
  15. Thank you very much! This helps me a lot also. I'm getting a better understanding
  16. Thank You! I had it all set up I just wasn't using it properly. You told me exactly what I needed to know.
  17. Steve, I apologies for my lack of being able to explain what I need. I will go back to my seminar videos and see if I can find my answer there. I don't even know how to properly explain what I'm trying to do. Thank You
  18. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the cameras and cross section view, layers and defaults. I make a new layer called "cross sections" because I want to separate it from the elevation camera views and it works real nice. The problem is that I want to be able to save the settings but if I change them for the framing sections at 3/8 or 1/2" scale then It messes up the camera views. Is there a way of saving and/or copying this call out so I don't have to set it up 2 or 3 times on every drawing I do? I'm afraid that if I set it as the default than it will mess up the camera views I use for elevations. Just having a hard time understanding it. Any help would be appreciated. I need to understand sections better because it seems like I spend a lot of time on them and they could be more be more automatic.
  19. Seems like a waste of time and energy to me Larry. Sometimes I get hung up on these little things and it ends up being a monumental waste of time when I could have just built what I needed in a cad detail (for example) for something that I rarely even need or just except it just the way it is.
  20. Yes, section is just for visualization only (doesn't have to be perfect). This note is all the city requires for me to give them along with a section (visualization only). Or at least before you start framing depending on what the city wants. Depends on the job and city
  21. I like to put in a truss when I take my section cut. You just have to adjust your rafters and ceiling joist and take out the birds mouth cut and the truss will lay right over it.
