  1. They look like terrain elevations info Terrain Elevation Data. Turn the layer off or delete it
  2. Here is another file. The other one may not work Harco.plan
  3. Is there anyone that has a little time to help me to clean this up? This my first time attempting to do exterior stairs. I seem to be close but have a few issues I'm having problems with. On top of whats circled in this picture I would like a ceiling instead of vaulted. Harco.zip
  4. I would imagine that if a fire separation is required that they would want it in the attic as well. I ques it would depend on if the requirement is just for the breezeway (corridor) to protect you to get out or for the possibility of a fire on one side reaching the other side.
  5. Thank you, that really helps me.
  6. Although, as a builder if the sections are saying 0" than I may want to match that.
  7. Yes, I do see 100' FF on topo. drawings
  8. That makes a lot of sense. Typically I use the subfloor of the main living space as Zero when I measure elevations of a property and make that consistent to all my subcontractors so we are all on the same page. So I can use negative and positive numbers from there depending if I'm above or below. I'm assuming the plan checker will except anything as long as it makes sense to them.
  9. I'm trying to understand terrain elevations because I'm getting more and more jobs where I have to show the correct slope on the elevations. I noticed that "0" seems to be the finish floor height as far as what the terrain see's. In this it says subfloor but that's not what I get in my section when I measure it. I get top of finish floor. Looking for clarification and some advice of where I should be having my "0" at? Im assuming subfloor, but I know usually plans I have seen in the past call it FF (Finish Floor) but the subfloor makes more sense because different rooms have different finishes such as wood, carpet, tile... Any advise would be helpful Thank You Oop's, I does read from subfloor. Still would like some advice on elevation starting point though. Should I start with the terrain to "0" and In the terrain specs box when I'm setting terrain elevations.
  10. Thank You! I tried to move that in every direction except for that one that you did. I guess this stuff just happens from time to time and we have to make it work. I wish there was a better explanation but I don't know what it would be.
  11. New Plan 103, Seaman, Steven.plan
  12. Thank you I will post it soon. Have to run out for a few.
  13. This is the kind of stuff that is very irritating to me!! If anyone can help me to easily find the problem when this happens I will be forever grateful! I can post the plan if needed but If I have some direction I would like to figure this out myself Thank You
  14. Or you could just make a poly line box or select the area and use the fill to make whatever scale grid you want. Don't forget to select whether or not you want a background color or transparent.
  15. This is what I was tying to say in my post but Lew did a better job of explaining it. However, I never used the idea of building a symbol for the site plan. Not something that I'm familiar with but should probably learn about symbols in general and how hey work. Thank you Lew
  16. In these type of situations I will usually separate the site plan from the drawing. In other words; you have a plan file just for the site plan and another plan file for the floor plan, elevations, electrical, sections.....
  17. Is there a way to export or transfer your "Cad Detail Management" list into another plan file that has already been started? I believe I asked this question before and I cant find my post but it would have been for an earlier version anyway. Any help would be appreciated, Thank You
  18. The color is correct but the material type is not. The stairs do not show the 2x6 with the gap. I also noticed that in the stair defaults there is no difference in materials between the interior and exterior stairs (out of the chief box) but they they do have two separate default settings. Just an observation. I always just work around these issues but it would help if Chief improved there stair and deck setup. I'm sure it's not easy to program or it would be better. Not a big deal to me at the present time but it may be to others.
  19. Hello Bob! Just following up; Did you make a purchase? Your decision and input could help others. Thank You!
  20. I have the Disto E7500i and I love it! Great investment.
  21. This is a good question. I know that you can get the patterns by using the auto fill button but I don't see any way of controlling the auto fill to do what you want it to do. I have been just putting the patterns in manually because I don't like the way auto fill works.
  22. Is there a way to take the finish floor from the framing section so we only see the sub-floor sheeting? You can do it in the camera few but not the sections as far as I can tell.. Thank You
  23. I made that layer when I was going through one of the on line classes. They suggested that I capitalize all my custom layers so I know what I added. I decided I didn't like that and I just add a period to the front of the name so all my added layers are at the top of the list.
