This does not happen with other walls. Arrow is set to 1" is the "auto connect threshold" a setting that I can change?
-
See picture, When I use the arrow key to move the room divider south the wall disconnects from the other room dividers. Is that normal?

Reading further I believe you will need to install a hand rail on that side. -

This is my take. -
See how ChopSaw dealt with it.

We've been wanting this for some time.

If you have on one sheet a 1/4":1' and 1/2":1' and 1":1' how do you compensate for the the dashed lines? While you are creating the views you need to see the line types as they will appear on the drawing sheet. I've been sending to layout with "Use Layout Line Scaling" off & depending on scale of each detail for line weight & type.

Well it's not quite correct. I'll live with this condition. Attached is the active set in the template file. Next is the Library Block Edit layer set. Very odd that some layers were added, one line weight was changed, and visibility was uncheck in some. The block that I was editing had only CAD, Default layer in it.
-
I like answers thanks What if the block has layers that are not in the template. Guess they are just added
-
OK I have about 15 layers that I made to use in cad blocks & the line weights are not always correct in all layer sets. I open the block to edit & some line weight are way out of wack, 25 or 18 when they need to be 3. I know it only trashes what I see in the edit window but I want WYSIWYG. So Chief gets these, unique to me, layers from somewhere. I'd like to know where. I'll spend so more time tomorrow to see if I can figure it out on my own. PS How about this example. I want to correct 3 or 4 similar blocks and each one I must edit the line weight to see what they look like before i save them. Sorry to be so picky.

I'm communication with tech support, trying to find the origin of that temporary layer set. Or is it not temporary, in that it is saved with the block but not re-saved if edited during the block edit secession.
-
When you right click on a library object & edit the cad block that is the name that Chief created for the temp window. Where does Chief get the temp layer set?
-
You can not save edit to this DBX
-
It doesn't work that way for me. If you edit the layer set while editing the block it doesn't save the edits. I can't find the source yet.
-
When you edit a CAD block in the user Library where does the "CAD Block Detail Layer Set" come from?
-
That is big one. We had a large one in 2017.

Are Cabinet Toe Kicks Required?
ACADuser replied to ACADuser's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
Thanks for the heads up. These are in a work area & not a kitchen but those ADA kitchens do have to deal with the lower counter tops. -
Thanks Joe. So the Fixture layer controls the 2D block line weight, ignoring the block object line weights.. While the same 2D block not associated with a symbol has its line weight controlled by the block objects line weight. That means you can not have different line weights within a "Fixture" 2d block associated with a symbol. I wonder why this limitation. This makes all fixtures the same unless you create extra layers.

Trying to edit a CAD block for a shower faucet. Wanting to reduce the line weights in the 2D view. You can select the faucet & use the "Edit CAD Block" tool. But the block is not updated. You can insert a CAD block & edit it but the original fixture is not updated.

I had 2 plan files & had 2 camera views. Mine is not that good as I didn't try very hard to make it correct. You can tell the shadows do not match. But no shadows & you may not even notice there are two cameras.

Maybe looking in 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com may help

I have a client that has kitchen cabinets he wants to reuse but the specs call out 34" high counter tops. So to use these cabinets he has to cut 2" from the 4" toe kick. It is a USDA project and I can not find any info on toe kick requirements.

Sectional attached. Insert & explode to edit items Perhaps the style is not close enough? Sectional.calibz
-
Perhaps I'm missing something here but the Chief catalog has several sectionals that have individual pieces. Could you use a similar piece that can be edited as you wish? I'm assuming the MFG sectional has no separate items?

I've run across many engineering graphs that use a different scale for X than Y. Gives me a head ache. The worst are Metal Building Plans. They use a funky way to depict column base plates. They are not to scale for the floor plan they are in.
