  1. Object Name. The door has no symbol to edit that I see. I just selected the exterior door & used the Add to Library tool.
  2. Your suggestion fixed the data in the Door Schedule. The user library door has the same automatic description so it must be hard coded. So I changed the description in the library door in the OI description so it is correct in the door sch.
  3. Thanks Mick, But where does the %automatic_description% source come from?
  4. Saving a french door to my catalog I wanted to change the Description. Can't seem to find where to change it.
  5. Can't upload this plan. Is there a common cause of the wall/floor intersections? Using the wall layer intersection tool does not work, plus it usually messes up the framing if you use a 45 deg.
  6. Both good suggestions. I have never tried the wide wipe-out line.
  7. The Doctor is very interesting in the plan development and doesn't want to see the extra line in plan view om his multi million dollar house. As a surgeon his is very picky. Chief says the only way to make it go away is to have the balcony floor at the same height as the interior. That's not going to happen. Any clever ways to deal with this? I'm preparing to use a solid fill poly with invisible border.
  8. I forgot about the browser update button. But as Eric said it should be a pointer that gets updated not a complete refresh of the preview image. Nothing in the Image changes just the pointer.
  9. Yes I was dragging the sheets in the Project Browser. The "Update All Views" did not restore the previews in the Project Browser.. Thanks for your interest.
  10. When I rearrange sheets in the layout set, dragging the sheets in the browser, the previews remain unchanged. This problem is resolved by closing the Layout file & reopening it. Is that normal behavior?
  11. That was the recommendation from tech support until they fix it. Good advice from Michael, the squeaky wheel as they say.
  12. Tech support confirmed the issue & turned it overt to software development to fix.
  13. Ah Ha! So I forgot to add one more hanger & when I went back to get one more Chief refused. Will report this.
  14. I use the ESC key = [Select Objects] Don't use the SPACE BAR
  15. This is a weird one. If I select a lib item from the icon view, insert it, quit the command, I can not select it again from the icon. I'm sure the video will explain it better. I use the ESC key = [Select Objects] to cancel out of the place LIb command.
  16. In plan view with wall framing displayed and using a north/south wall. Select a stud and the arrow key moves studs relative to the wall coordinate system & not the plan coordinate system. Now this would not be so aggravating IF when you select the stud a coordinate icon would appear letting the user know the coordinate system changed. Is that too much to ask?
  17. Very cool 27/64 worked perfectly. I use Arial & Arial Narrow most of the time. Thanks Michael
  18. Amazing coincidence. Vibs all the way from Alaska! I need a 5/4 for the drawing I'm working on & used BING to do web search.
  19. Found this today, another source for fractions. https://lights0123.com/fractions/
  20. Similar to Michael's, both good alternatives. Keeps the hold down under the column. Thanks
  21. I think the offset base plate may do the trick. We'll see what the engineer has to say about it.
  22. This house has 2 spots that need columns that sit on a 10" wide concrete wall, (formed & poured) The 6" square steel columns don't allow much room for the base flange bolts & still have 1.5" cover on the steel. Looking at recessed bolts for this, see attached. But was looking for any other ideas you might have. Not looking to go with wood as it is exposed to the weather. (Austin Texas) That is a somewhat open hallway & open stair area.
