Been reported ( I think) and it is a real pain! CA Pleaaaaaaase fix this.
-
Graham - good suggestion! never thought of that
-
Mike - there are a couple of ways to accomplish this depending on what your needs are. You could also make the pony wall a polyline solid with a hole in it and a cap polyline solid with a matching hole in it and 3 polyline solids for the glass panels.
-
If you don't need an actual wall you can use a box with an open top sized as needed. Place a polyline solid with a slot cut in it and a light source from below spot light set to 90 degrees versus -90. you can use 3D light source if you don't care about seeing a symbol.

That is a totally custom cabinet. Possible it could be for something else.

Dave, Just retired from Design Build remodeling in Pennsylvania to Florida but want to pick up some Chief work. Give me a shoult if you want to talk. I would welcome the opportnity. -
Just moved from 3,000 sf in Pennsylvania to 1,600 in Florida. Furniture IS a bif issue. You could consider selling everything and buying new to fit the space. If not I can help if you like. Just let me know.

place one, set it's height and other settings and then copy as needed. Doesn't that work? -

Your not a true member of the club unless you've been "offended" at least once! ;o) -
Also, make sure the camera shot is in the room with the lights. IF you have some kind of invisible partition segmenting the room and take the camera view from that area towards the open area the lights will not work except in ray trace. I post this because we do not know your situation

The Villages Florida got 35mph winds and some rain. No big deal here. Today is sunny and beautiful! Just like real estate it's all about location....

NIce John. The floor really came out well.

With ray tracing the lights work in ALL rooms. It is only with standard renders that you lose the lights. Scott's trick will work. Perry -did not know that. Thanks for the tip!

You can explode in SU and save a selected "component" from SU to wherever you want to put it. Componets are a group of surfaces (usually a symbol or part of one). Or you can delete everything you don't want in the main SU file do a save as and then reopen the original file and do the same for another item. I looked at the SU file and some of those items are individual items but not components. Simply select an item, right click and select make component and then you can select and right click again and save the component. The ones that are already components you will get a save as option. After saving you can then importinto Chief.
