Johnny - Yes, my cabinet supplier does recreate for several purposes. One is it ties into their whole system for ordering and tracking. They don't do pretty pictures and I don't do ordering but we both get the sale! Also, many kitchen dn bath projects require moving walls, plumbing and maybe some structural work. THey can't design to those situations. Bottom line it works for both of us. -
The short answer is yes. Cabinets can be modified and then saved and put in a folder. Just know that this program is not like 20-20. If you are selling a line(s) of cabinets yourself Chief is probably not the software you need. There is no automatic pricing and inventory. IF you are a remodeler then I think it is a great program.

Wendy - you are welcome but PLEASE use a larger font. The eyes aren't what they used to be. Your original post had larger text. Don't know what happened to the 2nd one.

Johnny, "process starts again when they design working drawings based on the concepts." My cabinets are ordered based on my design. We use semi-custom cabinets, not custom made by a cabinet company. "you can make some of the people happy all of the time, all the people happy some of the time, but not all the people all the time." I am not against an improved GUI but please don't try to talk for all CA users cause you will be wrong with a lot of them. State your point and who agrees agrees and who doesn't doesn't. -

Rashid - there are many catalogues for different cabinet lines. The vanities are made from cabinets and can be saved if you have something specific you use regularly. In X7 they are improving the vanity cabinet options by allowing rows and columns of cabiet doors and drawers making it easier to do vanities that are one cabinet but with a mix of doors and drawers. There is a video on it on you tube. THe one thing it does not do is pricing like 20-20 and other cabinet specific software does. Personally I find Chief very good for designing kitchens and baths. Examples attached. -

Rashid - I am a remodeling contractor. I and many others in my field use Chief for kitchen & bath design either as stand alone items or in conjunction with renovations and additions. -

Just wondering if somehow the file got corrupted. Have you tried another player like Quicktime? -
Scott, In the real world glass surrounds are not walls. THey are fixtures and that is how I treat them. I use a railing for the lower wall which can be set to have tile on the inside and outside if wanted with a 6"x3/4" railing/sill that I make marble. THen I don't have seams in the adjoining walls. Glass panels cn be sized and placed without restrictions. I think it beats fighting with walls and trying to make them something they were not designed to be.

Nice ti finally have that feature. I WANT MORE SNEAK PEAKS!!! -
I moved table to front of group and it works for the table and chair I used.
-
Looks like you'll have to do it manually.
-
It's also nice to use a polyline solid to create a sill that extends out on both sides. Adds some depth to the shelf and looks good. Use a marble texture to match what you are using for a threshold at the entry.

Works for me and I don't own any other versions.

Thanks Alan!

Has to be something with your system. I would reboot and try again. If that does not fix it I would think it is your video card. If you post your computer specs with your profile information someone may know whether your video card is sufficient. You could also post the plan for others to test but I don't think it is the plan.

Very nice as usual Kathleen.
