And @robdyckaorry was traveling today. My preference is Polycam. yea you can import it but in some instances you’ll be fighting chiefs native and very impressive symbol smoothing which can goof up your UV mapping. Also please note if you’re not decimating your mesh prior to an import, you’re likely bringing in an object with a HUGE poly count. for your fish, try setting symbol smoothing to 1 degree…. Does that fix your UVs?

There are already some feature requests for handling of objects seperate from layers. I'd have to do a search. Kind've lumps in with creating layer groups for better management of resources within rendering large spaces
-
If you even need multiple saved plan views. You can always save it to one saved plan view with the reference's layer set on the correct floor and the saved plan view set to use any floor....copy layer set which only has the post's layer on, then in layout, specify which floor you want displayed.

agreed..sorry teatime

Just an FYI, far more dynamic and resource friendly to use reference displays with correct offsets. That way every plan is dynamically linked..instead of creating a bunch of high poly count models.

cabinets have disappeared after a computer crash...X15 on Windows

Are they on a PC and where was the file location of the original file? -
Wall Cabinets gaining changing when sent to layout

would need to see the plan file...would also strongly advise you to stop using the point-to-point dimension tool..good way to take on liability on errors real quick -

There is a Make Coplanar tool as well as a Join Roof Planes tool in your Edit Toolbar when you select a roof plane.

OOTB UV mapping from Chief: Stretched UVs, upside down UV's, turned sideways UVs, no laminated edge UVs, uniform interior UVs. This is not really conducive to providing manipulatable 3rd party cabinet symbols. Sure looks great for imagery, but I would have a lot of questions for the vendor I was providing for and discussion about the limitations of the export from Chief

What exactly are you trying to achieve? You can do all of what you are asking but using the CAD tools and converting your cad to Terrain features/Roads/Driveways
-
We can already import and export 3d. If you are refering to importing something that then works within chiefs native parametric modal modeling...then I would guess "likely never." I wouldn't mind the ability to manipulate vertices though. But at that point, why not just use blender which is free. Do you have an example of what you are proposing it do?
-
dae is a collada file which blender can open...and oh man I would be weary about offering that service. Chiefs cabinets are not properly UV mapped and have no flexibility in panel thickness as well as some other things.
-
Blender is free and a more acceptable world wide modeling standard, export to dae and then import export to your obj. any particular reason you need it as an obj?

Post your .plan file please

I would hope they put a concave flashing.. that membrane heats and cools enough times it’ll break on a hard turn with no backing IMO
-
Hey Scott, Probably put a lot more flashing details in unless youre handling this in a separate detail which I would reference. If not balooning through then would fasten the parapet wall to your decking and interrupt the insulationl Only thing holding your parapet wall is the sheething(presumably) See detail below I just drew up. Flashed cap overlaps wedge and exterior surfaces. Flash the parapet wall and lap over your exterior flashing(Under your exterior surface) as well as interior parapet flashing. Flashing at interior of parapet wall overlaps cant(if cant is necessary). Would stiffen that parapet wall up with double top plate. Like others said, no need for parapet insulation.
