ACADuser
I build an extension to the table of contents on a plan to accommodate sheets I do not generate. The horizontal likes need to be quite accurate to fall between the new text. I measure but at 3/16 the rounding chief does at that small a measure is off. In Autocad I just Pick the measurement which is quite accurate. I doubt Chief will add this feature to its dialog boxes as not enough people are asking for it. So what is the best way to get the accurate measurement? Is there a better way to do this?
glennw
I don't 100% understand your problem....but...use decimal inches with a lot of decimal places (instead of fractions of an inch).
Gawdzira
Chief nails the measurement but you can not look at what is in the dimension. You need to copy the number. See images. This is the measurement of the dimension string : This is the real number that you can copy and paste:
ACADuser
OK Thanks Alan, that helps. Playing with plain text I was able to create a text object & align the vertical lines to match the Index. This was the way to go only I could not conquer the Text table elements, Now I have a better understanding. SO I no longer need the cobbled table I created. Richard_Morrison
Wouldn't it be easier just to add blank layout sheets with those names? Or use a spreadsheet after converting the table to text?
Gawdzira
Items like that I copy a table in from Open Office into a rich text box. This is pasted in:
Dermot
I agree with Richard here. I would just use the Layout Page Table and add the pages you need. No messing with measuring or drawing any cad at all.
johnny
I agree with Richard's method - and that is what I do for sheets I'm not preparing....but, id also say you dont need to have lines between the text either. I suppose if that is how you want it, but I personally turn those lines off anyways.
ACADuser
The Plain Text with grid on works OK once you get it figured out. I do use blank layouts on occasion but for 10 sheets the text table is easier for me to manage. Just edit it on one sheet.
