Joe_Carrick
Architectural Objects (Doors, Windows, Walls, Appliances, Fixtures, Furniture, etc) all have a Component List and one of the fields is "Code". This field can be edited and displayed in the Schedule (if there is one) as well as in user macros. Do you use the Component Code? If yes, what do you use it for? Can you think of a logical use? DRAWZILLA
No, I really don't know what the component code is for, and never use it,
Alaskan_Son
Logical use? Product numbers or SKUs maybe. Only thing I have personally ever used it for is to create extra usable data fields for customized schedules.
kMoquin
I use it for model numbers.
Joe_Carrick
I use it for model numbers. Do you display those in the Plan (Labels) or just in the Schedule(s) ?
kMoquin
Just in schedules. Plan notation is W# in a hexagon
Bill_Emery
I use it to bring odd bits of information into the label, as it is the only column in the component dialog box that can be accessed with a macro, and displayed in the label. I've always wondered while this is the only column accessible by macro.

SimonMCJ
i am trying to link an item I have in my user catalog of which is a name.. EG A0606 For Awning 600mm High x 600mm Wide. I want to use the "A0606" as the Code for when that item is dragged into a project and show up in the Code Column of a window schedule... I think it sounds logical, but cannot find a way to acheive it.
DBCooper Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM Best to post a new topic instead of bring a 9 year old thread back from the dead. You should just be able to right-click on the library object, use the "open object" tool to open the dialog, go to the "object information" page, and type in the code you want.
