DTCBuild
Trying X8 but can't find what they did with the'FinalView' to smooth out the lines in perspectives. I use this a lot with 'Technical Illustration'. The lines are woefully jagged without the final view function. But, love the shadows on elevations! DRAWZILLA
If that view is tied to a camera then the view could be pixelated on the layout, this is a new method Chief is using for quicker viewing. Don't worry though b/c it will actually print at high resolution.

How many users will be baffled by this 'new method'?

LeeDrafter
Hello, I just upgraded to X9 and I can't find the "final view" button. Where is it now? Thanks, Lee 1
Dermot
X9 does not have a Final View tool anymore. All the Final View tool did was temporarily turn on rendering preferences so that you could work with them normally turned off for faster performance. It was originally put in for Version 7 when rendering performance was the most critical issue. The technology we are using now is so much faster that there is no reason to turn off features just so that you can work in a camera view. Most of the settings that control how the view look are now saved with each camera. You can set them up in your Camera Defaults or change them after the camera has been created in the Camera Specification dialog. This also means that when you open up the camera view again that it should look the same as it did when you last saved it, even on different machines (which was not possible using the Final View tool). judyjudyjudy
I must be missing something because when I save a view to a layout it is jagged/pixilated. When I save the layout to a PDF for sharing it is still pixilated. This can't be right. Using X9 and missing the final view option!
LeeDrafter
In the camera defaults, there is an option to check edge smoothing while idle, that will give you a final view look.
judyjudyjudy
That definitely helped. Thank you!
DRAWZILLA
Try to make your view as large as possible on the monitor before sending to the layout. This pixelated view in the layout is normal. When you print it , the view will be fine.
