Hi,

I submitted this to Chief tech support yesterday as a possible bug, but they were not able to reproduce it.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so maybe they can describe it better?  I thought I'd put it out there to see if it's at all a common problem.

Here's what I submitted:

Chief,
I've come across a possible bug / nuisance that I wanted to bring to your attention.  Very often when I open a dialog box, I cannot begin typing an entry even though a field is highlighted. In order to edit the field, I have to mouse the cursor to it and click into it.  This is counterintuitive as I think with most software if a field is highlighted then it's ready for direct keyboard editing. Hope I've explained this well enough. Screenshot attached.

Example shown below is of a Callout DBX.  Even though field is highlighted not able to type over unless I click into it.

Thanks,

Jim

I can't reproduce it.

It might be a problem with the defaults or preference settings.

Thanks for testing.  I'll see if anyone else comes up with it, otherwise I'll assume it's my setup.

We are aware of this issue.

You are more likely to see the problem if you have the  "Open Dialogs to the Last Panel Visited" preference turned on.    The problem occurs after switching panels in a dialog.  If after changing panels an edit field happens to be highlighted/focused then you won't be able to type directly.

Brian,

Thanks for responding and looking into this.
