mtldesigns
I am looking for a way to turn off the annoying "angled" selecting lines when I am lining up anything with another. I don't think I ever used this to align with anything at an angle, ever. On a large, busy job.. those dang lines like to grab everything. I believe these came with 16, since I don't recall them on earlier versions. Is there a way to just have it set to do horizontal or vertical alignments? The Knowledge Base is really no help at all on this, at least that I could couldn't find..
glennw
Can you be a bit more specific. What tool are you using to align what with what. I am guessing you might be talking about the Angle Snap Grid? But if so, have a look at Preferences>Edit>Snap Properties>Snap Indicators>Display Angle Snap Grid. And Preferences Edit<Behaviors>Primary Movement Method>Polar. I don't want the angles alignments on, just horizontal and vertical. I don't know if this is a setting I can turn off. mtldesigns
This was an easy case where I can avoid all the "choices", since this isn't very detailed. But those areas in the Working Plan View where all the layers are on, and the area is very busy, I have to zoom way up on the object I want to center on, and still I am 50-50.
MoeGia
I agree and would like to turn those angled alignments off. For most of my work, they are unnecessary and take longer to get past. Horizontal and vertical alignments is all I really need. A setting to turn them ON/OFF would work better for me.
JoAnne04330
I also would love to see a way to turn off the angled alignment setting.
BenPalmer
Yes, very annoying. I like the angle for reflecting, but even then, it is too dominant and becoming harder to find the center for reflecting as the angle starts taking over. So, if they give options, it needs to be by tool, as I don't want it going away for reflecting...just less dominant....maybe a dominance factor as well??? Thanks for bringing this up. ComputerMaster86
I think the easiest thing would be for Chief to implement and allow two customizable hot keys. The hotkeys would be dedicated to each option. One for Angles/Corners and the other for horizontal / vertical. I actually use the corner snap with "Reflect About" a lot and would hate to see that go away but, I also have experienced the issue shown in the video.
