BeeoHat
I'm trying to model my house. The front has a concrete deck/porch, with a roof overhead. In the attached image, I created the "room" as a deck, then changed it to porch. My problem is, I want to get rid of the three posts showing, and replace it with one custom post on the outside corner. I'll create this post in sketchup and import. But I can't find how to delete those posts in any of the dialogue boxes. Help anyone?
DRAWZILLA
Use post to beam, and adjust the spacing to get what you want.
rgfeher
This will work - not sure how it would come out if both sides of the porch were of equal lenght, but that might be a rare issue
Kbird1
make the Deck Railing walls "invisible" in the Wall DBX if you dont want to see the railing , you cant delete the posts ,they are part of the railing and if you delete them , you delete the deck.... rgfeher
I believe the OP changed the room definition to "Porch" Could possibly make a difference if the wall were changed to invisiable Haven't tried - Interesting though
Solution glennw Posted March 18, 2014 Solution Share Posted March 18, 2014 Looks to me like you have railing walls designated as No Rail. What you are seeing is the Newels/Posts. You can turn these off on the Newels/Balusters panel by setting the Width to zero. Or make the railing wall Invisible.
BeeoHat
Many thanks for all the suggestions. glennw's suggestion did the trick, by setting the Newel width to zero.
