evergreen
ok, but I keep seeing it ahead of ET, not behind (am I missing something?) Opening up your post, Perry, I'm seeing 9:04PM....its 4:04PM by me?
DRAWZILLA
Ok, I posted it at 1:04pm. I do know any computer can not keep the time correct if the internal battery is low or going out. How old is your computer?
dshall
ok, but I keep seeing it ahead of ET, not behind (am I missing something?) Opening up your post, Perry, I'm seeing 9:04PM....its 4:04PM by me? that is weird, I thought they auto adjusted for your own time zone. Are you sure you are not living in Hawaii? Stick your head outside and see if you see blue skies and 78 degree temp., if you do, you are probably in Hawaii, if you see snow..... you are probably where you think you are and that would be New York. evergreen
Possibly, its about 5 years old. Any way to check battery level? Also, computer stays on (sleep mode over night) and am hooked up to an APC unit.
evergreen
Haa, well, Scott, its 19 degrees out now, and a lot of white stuff around (and I don't mean sand)

Also, computer stays on (sleep mode over night) and am hooked up to an APC unit. I doubt it's your CMOS battery - it should last longer than 5 years. And if you're computer is never turned off, the CMOS battery isn't required - it's only for holding info when the computer is completely powered off. AFAIK, the only way to check your CMOS battery is to crack your case, remove it, and put a voltmeter across the poles.
dshall
Haa, well, Scott, its 19 degrees out now, and a lot of white stuff around (and I don't mean sand) Yeah, I think you are in New York. What I have noticed recently with my MAC, is the time right be off, but if I click on the computer clock, it corrects itself. I do not know if that would have anything to do with what you are experiencing.
dshall
You can set the Time Zone in your profile settings. Jeez, that is a no brainer.... I would think Mike has that dialed in correctly, but who knows.....

DRAWZILLA
Sometimes you need to shut off the computer and re-boot. I always shut down every night.

I was checking the time zone on my computer (instead of the forum), what a knucklehead . Anyway, that was it Athenian_CAD...thank you Thanks everybody for putting up with that! dshall
.......Thanks everybody for putting up with that! Believe me, we have put up with a lot worse, at least you have it figured out with Athenian's help.
DRAWZILLA
How simple was that. I'm thinking the worse.
evergreen
Athenian's direction was correct, (but I misunderstood and checked the wrong place), anyway, I winded up calling tech support a few posts back that pointed at the "forum", so thanks to CA tech support as well! Kiwideziner
I had never taken any notice of the post times, Why doesn't the forum take its info from Windows settings?? Mine was set for some place I have never even heard of.
evergreen
I too never gave it much thought at first. And yes, mine was also set to somewhere unfamiliar.
