Material list modifications

Hello, I am new to Chief and I am trying to somewhat customize my material list. One thing I am trying to do is set the maximum / minimum length for materials like top and bottom plates. Another thing I am trying to do is set things like tile and drywall to be figured by sqft rather than by the piece. Any help or video suggestions is much appreciated. Thanks, Matt

Change the Material List Calculation to Area.

First, thanks so much for the help. In regards to the lumber lengths, I have set a maximum length, but the list is still generating these longer lengths. I imagine that I am missing something...

There's some good info on the CA website. I believe you can look at the material list in a couple of different ways, one of these may give you what you want,

Matt, Try generating a new material list.

If I want my wall plates to report in 16 footers on the material list, I have to open each wall detail where the wall is over 16 long, and edit so there are pieces.  Does not take long.

 

Compose a suggestion and put it in the Suggestions subgroup here, that gives us the same feature for plates that we have for rims.
