Adding a double top railing

Is there a way to add a double top railing as shown in the attached pic?
 

Or should I just either add it in manually or make a symbol?

That particular railing style could be built as a panel railing in Chief.

Or add a p-solid top rail since your mid posts will need to be done manually as well.

Molding polyline for the top rail and adjust offsets if necessary.

You could use a Post To Beam railing and reduce the deck ceiling height to the overall height of your rail.

Plus some other tweeks to get the sizes and configuration you want.

That comment always seems to come up but what do you do about your construction documentation ?  Draw cad boxes where the p-solids would be ?

If I recall correctly the reduced ceiling height can wreak havoc with the truss system in certain situations but they may have fixed it.

It doesn't get much quicker or easier than making your own double top rail using a 2x4 and 2x6 profile with a 3.5" gap. Add to library as a stacked molding.

One drawback to get it exactly like the picture is the intermediate 4x4 posts won't build like the image. I'd add those manually.

Not sure I follow the question? They show fine in section and 3D. The mid-posts will have to be manual as you said.

I was thinking more of the plan view representation that is not very good with most Molding Lines or Polylines.  Maybe you are not using that at all and relying on the railing wall Plan Display options ?
