ADA Ramp issues,

Recommended Posts

Hey, Was wondering if anyone new how to have these 2 ramps to start at grade and go to top of landings. Front one is for ada ranp is 72 in long for each 6 in rise.

The 2nd ramp behind it is service entrance and can have a sharper rise for pushing cart up.

I cannot seem to get it working out.

Thank you for any assistance.

Didn’t you have this same question last month?  Figure out what your absolute heights are for grade and for your top landing open the ramp and set it to those heights.

ADA in Texas is serious as any commercial job requires an ADA certified independent inspector to inspect and certify for occupancy.  If I remember right it is 1:12 slope with max 30” height increase before having a landing.

I solved the issues. yes I know that ada is 1:12 slope. I have been designing commercial projects over 50 years.

Thank you for your help.I just have issues when a building is above grade more than 12 in with rams?

!:12 is only a max, best practice is less slope of space allows

You need to update your profile pic! I take it you have your coffin selected!?;)

I'm taking a look at your plan file now...

@Designer100

Plan is attached. You can take a look to see what I changed, and the simplest way to get those changes into your plan would be to delete the 2 ramps, landing and slab, then copy the same items from this plan and ctrl-alt-v in your plan. Clear as mud, right?!

By default, ramps in Chief are set to 1:12.  If you want a different slope, either steeper or less steep, turn off automatic heights.  You can then specify the start and end heights, or the slope that you want.
