OK guys, Kerry Francis of Garage Door Wizard fame emailed me over the weekend and said that he does not plan on improving the program because the demand does warrant the work required.

However, he is allowing me to sell Version 2.10.0025 of the program that works on with Chief Architect Premier X9 and Windows 10. To keep the cost and trouble down, I will sell the program for Kerry on the honor system. You send me $20 via PayPal to CVRE@sbcglobal.net and I will forward you the program via email. No sharing, warranty, no returns, no crying, no whining. Please let the rest of us know if it works or not on your computer setup by posting on this thread so others can decide whether to buy.

Upgrades are $20 also since there is no way to monitor registered users. Kerry said that the price back in the day was $35. So it is a good deal. Kerry was nice enough to allow me to distribute this because some of us asked for it. I am just trying to contribute to you guys and gals on the forum who have helped me by participating on the forum.

Regards,

Charles

Charles - Doesn't the earlier version work with X9?

What is new/different about the upgrade?

Yes.

Once the symbol is generated in the Garage Door wizard. You need to use CA Import feature to bring the symbol into your User Library. From there you can drop it into your plan.

Jon - I get errors on my end. X9 and windows 10.  I think your version number is listed as 20,00.0021 and it should read

2.00.0021.

It works for me but I'm a bit disappointed in the available configurations.  OTOH, it's a lot better than nothing.

Got the update and got error messages but I did get a door.

Got the same error messages on the old version.  Tried it again and do get a door.

Guess I could have just used the old version. Oh well......

Well guys & gals (in Texas we just say guys for all persuasions), I only have had a few takers (as in THREE) on the Garage Door Wizard program at $20. I thought there was more interest when I asked Kerry Francis to get it to work on Windows 10 for us.

Any-who, I am bumping this thread to see if anyone else is interested before time gets away from us on this.

Regards,

Charles

Charles,

I suspect many people don't even know what this is, or what it's for, unless they are a Chief old-timer. Is there a website still up for this that you could point people to?

All I know is it gives you all the standard garage doors you can't get in the lib. You know the doors you see every day in every tract house.

      Hello All,

I am working on a plan for an addition and in the basement there is a garage with an overhead door and man door. The doors show up on the 3D overviews and elevations, but not the foundation plan. I have checked the layers and they are all on. The odd thing is that I have layer called Doors, Existing and they are showning fine everywhere. Note the new doors do show up on an older version of the plan (backup copy).

      Any suggestions would be appreciated.

      Thank you in advance,

I'm not sure when this happened or how it happened but my ceiling isn't meeting the wall in the basement.  The separation is from the garage.  I created a brand new plan to make sure my heights all matched up correctly and they do.  Can you tell by looking at my screenshots what might be happening or what I need to do to fix it?  Photo on the left is the wall/ceiling in the basement.  The photo on the right is from the garage.

      Thanks so much!

I'm looking to hire someone asap to help with drawings. Initial project is deck over garage.  I'm a contractor, specializing in remodels, and I have plenty of work to outsource.  Most of my projects are fairly simple....I just prefer to pay someone to do the drawings and focus on other tasks....

Attached is a start for a job tearing off an 8 in 12 roof, replacing with a 1 in 12, with a deck over it.

This is a first for me, so I'm not sure what other information is needed...but the net is that I need plans that I can send to my engineer for a stamp then submit to permits....asap!

      Greetings,
I am struggling with finding a good method for entering Overhead Garage Doors.   I have a garage foundation that will be 2 blocks above the slab.  I want to have a 2x6 run down to the slab inside of the framed opening to facilitate attachment of the OHD trim moulding.  What would be good settings for the "Add for Concrete Cutout"  … and "Has Jamb"   settings?  And Should the "Inside Trim" be the 2x6 frame for railing attachment?

      Thanks,
      TP

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good, affordable (dare I say, free?) PDF editor?  I'm mostly looking for something that will allow printing to larger sheet sizes than normal.  OCR and editing capabilities would also be quite helpful.

      Thanks!
