kerone_12
Please look at images and try to assist me with this guys, i'm trying to add a balcony over a lower existing roof, but some how there is a hole in the floor slab of the upper floor which over hangs over the lower roof. Please see images attached. Using version X8 of Chief Architect Premier. Thanks
justmejerry
Post the plan. Could be lots of guesses without it. From the pictures I can tell you that your roof sloping towards that wall where balcony is, is not a good thing.
kerone_12
Yes the roof is sloping towards the balcony, however the balcony is higher than the roof below
glennw
If you were building auto roofs, the Allow Low Roof Planes option is usually the setting to use. Otherwise, I would designate the upper floor patio to be either Open Below or uncheck Floor Under This Room. Then use a polysolid or slab and build the floor manually. ShaneK
Check floor thickness of balcony in framing dbx, make sure it matches your floor, or POST THE PLAN, lol.
TLHomeDesigns
This doesn't solve your problem but Either I'm just missing something or it looks like you going to have some major water trap issues with the gable coming down into that exterior wall. . Surely I'm just not seeing this right.
johnny
From the pictures this issue is related to design - not Chief. You dont want to simply fix the visual, you should look at the fundamentals you've got happening in that area.
