  1. nope, sorry you could try calling CA's customer service to discuss BTW: this forum is for mainly for users of Chier Premier HD product users would find little benefit following this forum except for HD PRO users check out the HD Hometalk forum which is focused on HD products Lew
  2. Greg: I'm with you - Chief should be able to do this auto-magically Lew
  3. if you need to build/rebuild roofs separately or have complex terrain I find it easier to keep the plans separate and make a 3D symbol of one of the houses add it to the library then add that symbol to the "master" plan Lew
  4. hopefully an understanding can be derived that use method A for situation A use method B for situation B etc etc etc then without these being written down in a concise readable manner its going to be very easy to get consfused/forgetful and start mixing/matching then the frustration sets in and the grumbles of chief is too hard to learn believe me - I struggled with this stuff muchly when I was doing Chief and man/most times would have my partner/friend fix my mess Lew
  5. welcome this forum is primarily for users of Chief Premier the Hometalk forum is dedicated to users of the HD products while HD PRO users can benefit from following the chieftalk forum the other HD products are too limited in their features CA does offer one-on-one training but it would be via the internet check out David Potter as he specializes in all HD products and Chief Premier he posts frequently on both forums training via the internet is his forte (and business) Lew
  6. this type of issue is why I starting asking for wall/room/floor/roof locks nothing worse that have "everything" set in an "area" and then finding out later "something" slipped - probably due to user error and now its a mess and needs to be cleaned up can be very embarrassing if it happens in front of a client or just before a deadline or worse if makes it into the condocs Lew
  7. 9ff018fbe5143d8097e6af0d37e66cfa68a65f8f is an indication you are saving to archive file or something else start from beginning and descible all steps being taken screen captures would be best Lew
  8. that doesn't make sense ??? "save" should save the file under the same name "save as" pops a dbx and gives the chance to give a new name (and location) review the steps you are doing and if necessary post more screen captures Lew
  9. Chief should ask before acting on changes like this Lew
  10. I find it easier to place the detached garage in a separate plan then make a 3D symbol of the building and place it in the library then and the symbol to the main plan and adjust as needed Lew
  11. BTW: with HD Suite you should be using the Hometalk forum the Chieftalk forum is for Chief Premier users while HD PRO users can benefit from following Chieftalk also other HD products are too limited to find any real benefit Lew
  12. my X6 fires up fine .... but I have the hardware key something to consider Lew
  13. you could try buying X1 with key on Ebay you could ask for someone to donate their old key the donor should verify this is for a valid license or upgrade to X7 Lew
  14. talk to CA's customer service they really need to fix this too many HD users end up at the Chieftalk forum and that leads to confusion and frustration all around CA has been aware of this confusion for a long time it's time they deal with it Lew
  15. since you are using HD PRO you should also consider posting on the Hometalk forum which is dedicated to HD users this forum is for Chief Premiere users - but HD PRO users can benefit from following this forum for example HD PRO has most of the same manual roof tools A Chiefer could work on your plan than save it with the edit flag on and you would be able to edit their work UNLESS they used a feature that HD PRO doesn't have Lew
  16. you can also put the "main floor" and the terrain as floor 1 then all the lower floors as -1 -2 etc chief can have 30 floors - with any combination of positive and negative floors personally I would probably put the house in a separate plan then make a 3D symbol of it - store it in the library then add that symbol to the site plan Lew
  17. clone the plan delete everything but the house make a symbol of the house store in library (or not) delete house in the original plan (have a backup) place the house symbol and move as needed Lew
  18. I recommend converting each building into a symbol and placed into the library then add the symbols to the terrain (master) plan Lew
  19. which version ??? if its too old then ??? if you have the lock they may be able to send a new one then you mail back the broken one contact CA's customer service for details Lew
  20. David is correct Lew
  21. my partner and I lived in different locations only one can work on a plan at a time when one is done email the file then wait until the other is done etc etc etc we add date and time and initials and version to the file name to help keep track 123_REMOD_150621_1450_LB_X7.plan Lew
  22. however, Interiors would only be able to view items that Premier has that Interiors doesn't best to contact CA's customer service as David suggested Lew
  23. I thought PRO could export .DXF files ??? if not, you may be able to hire a chiefer to create the .DWG file for you someone may volunteer to do it for free ??? I would volunteer but its not my forte Lew
  24. Joey: it would be the builder that does the signing/stamping unless there is an architect or engineer involved in the project designer/drafters are not allowed to sign/submit the homeowner can sign/submit but may need architect/engineer also all depends on the jurisdiction Lew
