  1. By default Chief uses 15 and 7,5 degree angle snaps for objects including walls. Most builders try to stay within norms but sometimes the overall design begs to differ. In order to free form draw slanted walls to be a "Hall" they must still be perpendicular to each other and I hope you don't mean slanted relative to the floor! To override the default "Angle Snaps" you find the icon for Angle Snaps and turn it off to draw the first wall where you wish it. Then open the Wall Specification Dialog and copy-paste or round off you wall angle and place the results in the "General Plan" note dialog -"Allowed Angles" input boxes. Once that is done you can turn "Angle Snaps" back on. You would only turn this off for such specialized actions. DJP
  2. The first and last time I imported and changed contour lines to elevation lines the resulting Terrain Plane was slower than molasses' in the Winter to view in camera and plan view. It had so many 3D faces it was overwhelming my then computer. I am with Rabbit on this one. DJP
  3. I always charge by the hour ($75.00), some of the users here have accreditations that demand higher fees (Architects, AIBD , & etc.). When you get more answers you will, I think, have more amounts from $75.00 - up. You should also see variance's in per SF. figures as well. DJP
  4. Posts are programmed to meet the established ceiling. It appears you ordered no ceiling, so then "No Post". Make sure it is set "post to ceiling" in the Wall Specification Dialog and "No Ceiling" in the room -structure tab. DJP
  5. This guy is also very good: Jintudesigns.com
  6. I have been helping Chief and Home Designer users for a couple of decades remotely. I have a Zoom Meeting online meeting service and have helped others with their projects all over the US, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Russia, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Kenya, South Korea, and Australia/New Zealand. I can and will help you. Send me your plan file, what software you used to make it (version and name), this way we can quickly fix your plan while you actively help guide me to what you need help with. At No extra charge, our session can be videoed for later reference by you. I charge $75.00 per hour, Let's get you started! DJP
  7. Always, this is the way,. DJP
  8. Symbols are going to to be programmed to float as a unified object whereas terrain features "follow" the terrain. You want to use the objects that support your intentions and you work with what IS there and how they are intended to be used, DJP
  9. My business model includes working with users who never upgraded. I have versions 7- 25 on my PC. This supports creating work or helping to create and finish work started by others. People are generally sloppy with their file archiving so I keep copies of all the files I have worked on from Version 4-25. I have those files by version then client name, Hard drives and web storage are cheap, works for me. DJP
  10. Merry Christmas to you and your family! DJP
  11. Post a copy of your .plan file so others can look. DJP
  12. The upper room name in the roof specification dialog box is not just a name but is a programming command for that room, so if you select "Deck" the program supports that space as a "deck" and decks are programmed to have no "non-decks" built under them. Where I need this to happen I designate the Deck as actually a balcony. The software allows something that looks like a deck but isn't when named a balcony. But what a space is named Deck it then reacts accordingly. Software has NO OPINIONS; only programing. DJP
  13. Find out what layer they are on and turn that layer off or create a custom layer for them so you can more have more choices to turn them on or off visually. DJP
  14. in the Display Options dialogs for plan and camera views is the layer named "Ceiling Planes" checked as being "ON"? DJP
  15. I would assume that your attic walls that are the "High Shed Gable" walls are out of alignment with the roof trusses. Auto Generated attic walls are often not reliably placed and or you may have miss located them. The truss tool follows the room dialog box established ceiling height and the underside of the roof planes, so it is probably correct unto itself but is sticking through the attic walls as in your posed image. Just a guess. DJP
  16. Reference Manual: "ROPE LIGHTS Select Build> Electrical> Rope Light, then click and drag to draw a rope light path with regularly-spaced light sources along its length. Rope Lights are a type of Molding Polyline so their rope profile can be customized. See Rope Light Specification Dialog on page 678" DJP
  17. I have X12 but I also need to visit your permit authority's website to find out what they require to obtain a permit. Email me if interested. DJP
  18. Don't import them, rather just copy-paste them from your X 14 to X15 in your Documents folder/Chief Architect Premier X 15 Data/ Database Libraries folder. I do this myself with all the versions I keep on my PC's (7-25) DJP
  19. Send me the file, your version name and number (2021, 2022, 2023), instructions as to what needs attention in detail and I will send it right back to you. DJP
  20. I tried calling you several times this morning but you could not hear me. Please email me, my email is c16467@gmail.com. DJP
  21. He said it was "helpful" but not any solution to his problem. DJP
  22. I had that problem once, I solved it merely by rebooting my computer as it was a Microsoft problem and not Chief. Are you using a dongle or a password? I have versions 9.5-X15 on my computer. All run smoothly. DJP
