What PDF printer are you using?

Try loading them up to X8 or X9, save them, then move to X12. But if you are asking about Chief "automagically" placing all the features now available in X12 into a file as old as X6, then I would say no, it won't happen. You will have to spend some time to update those plans, but you won't need to re-draw them all.

That looks like a BOW window, not a bay. Try the BOW tool.

Use a revision index on the layout page.

Just make a doorway in the wall for the coolers to slide into. That way you can control the framing and headers.

The wall above is mis-aligned causing an "attic" wall to find the roof plane above.

Don't overthink it. Use the 2D Details and move on.

Simply break the 2 front gables and drag them up to form the center gable. You will probably need to manually place that attic wall.

But a question @dshall...because you are a SAM guy, don't you have to go back and clean up all those saved plan view since you use the same plan file over and over?

Could be. I don't have that in my tool bar so I don't know how that works, but looks the same as the Anno Set control.

I'm saying I don't want to have to keep up with all the different plan views. One click to change my Anno (Default) Set and work. I don't want to have to go and find my electrical plan when I need to work on it...one click...working on electrical plan. I know there are some that now swear by plan views, and that's all well and good for them, I simply have no use for them.

They are. Anno Sets is now referred to as DEFAULT SETS, all the same just a different name. I hope saved plan views doesn't take over. I know everyone is crazy about them, but as I said, that isn't the way I work so I find little use for them, other than of course having to keep track of a 100 different plan view in my project browser.

I have tried a couple saved plan views....ehh....was my view. It's just not the way I work, but I fear that I am going to have to try and use them more as my beloved Anno Sets are going to be phased out.

Don't use the number column, remove that from the schedule if you are going to give them specific names.

Open cabinet DBX, click LABEL tab, select custom label and change.

a) Tell the barn door to have 2 sides. b) Type what ever you want in the label area of the cabinet and/or door.

Remove the auto created newel posts and add them back in manually.

I use it all the time but I have never tried to export anything. I just use the PDF to whip up quick as built conditions. Any CAD files would most likely need to be converted, and in ,y experience, it's faster to just draw what I need.

For the most part..yes. like others have said, if I know the change has little chance of surviving I will "save as" otherwise I only want one file to keep track of.

My opinion....wayyyyyyy toooo much work. You make a new file, or change the existing file every time you open a plan? If you are worried about re-capturing older versions after a client changes their mind about having you change something (which they will do), Chief keeps those copies for you in the auto archive. I hate to see people over think the process and create more work and more files, too easy to make a mistake and cost yourself $$ when the mistake gets built.

Select the dim, or go to the dim defaults and change accordingly.
