Extending Roof Over Deck with Ceiling Above - X16
SHCanada2 replied to DHerb2014's topic in General Q & A
did you get it to work with all auto roofs? ..I always like a game of spot the differences . your heel height looks too high or main floor ceiling looks too high as the distance from top of window to peak looks larger. ...can also see it for the space above the windows on the left -

Extending Roof Over Deck with Ceiling Above - X16

Did you try changing the overhang width for that wall. If you do that you also have to set the same eave height check box -
Automation, Templates, Drawing Speed Tips & Tricks
SHCanada2 replied to jvirostko's topic in Tips & Techniques
I keep four kitchen elevations on my template plan, with 2 of them already linked on my template layout. As cameras cannot be rotated, I am correct in the selected 2 about 1/3 of the time. I also have a dedicated layer for new windows and doors, so their label shows red, as here the authority wants to know what changes are made to the outside -

two posts is one way with the bottom post having rock material. I'm pretty sure CA has a video for vertically different columns. Look for "columns"

CA has an article on minimum and recommended requirements.

what does it look like if you set the leader style to "none"

if your drawing sheet matches your print size, your layout page will match the pdf if "to scale" is selected or if "fit to paper is selected", which looks to be what you have there. but there is only one page showing, and you say it is printing on 3 pages? I tried it with ARCH C for both and it is only printing one page for my elevation

@winterddAre you trying to maintain the framing created by the deck, or some other framing you put there?
-
I seem to recall I had a similar issue a few years back and someone suggested I create a room in the porch which matched the cantilever. and that seemed to fix the impact to the other room heights
-
And there are many free ones that work for up to 3 or 5 min
-
Doesnt CA link it by default as opposed to embedding
-
what have you tried? Without the brick, what you describe is a standard attached garage build here (except our stem walls are 48" into the ground) The elevation of the slab vs the footing is set up in the room structure

I do a lot of basement developments and sometimes I will need the main floor plan, and second floor just because the City sometimes asks. For the basement I will just use a laser measure and draw in CA onsite to make sure everything lines up. It takes about 60 minutes I'm looking for something that will be ok accurate for "the rest of the house" for a floor plan and does not charge by the sq foot. I saw polycam has a monthly fee. Has anyone used a monthly subscription service, or God forbid someone who just sells the software to do a scan and provide a floor plan. I dont need bells or whistles, just the floor plan. I can do my own video. Anyone used something with Android? I'm willing to pay $1000 for HW if I can get the per plan fee down to about $50 or less. But the 0.20 cent per square foot that I saw for a couple software packages is too expensive, I might as well just laser measure it myself and pay myself $150 / hr

@Renerabbitt interesting, that looks like it might be persistent. Or does one have to click on the CAD detail to fire the macros, and if 2 plan files are open does it still work ( the whole global variables problem)
-
you could also...if your db is not being used for any other purpose other than CA notes, put each note in a CA text macro in your template plan, and then just call whichever macro from your notes. ...or put them in a ruby module which loads..and call whichever. but probably only an option if you do not use the db for any other purpose

i was going to mention the same. I find that if the walls are vertical it looks better. The leftmost wall in the pic I find distracting as it slopes inward. You can also get a better PDF image by sending the camera to a 24x36 layout and CA save to PDF to 24x36. larger image at same dots per inch equals better looking image

I'd do solids and moulding polyline for the top. I might try material region first to see how the gap between the blocks would look. your exterior wall soffit in the front, can be modelled as a room
-
more importantly, that ladder does not look to comply to the 4:1 safety rule. Safety second is my motto
-
use an existing and click the save as button beside the plan view drop down
-
change the room to a balcony and build all framing

No, a couple of have asked for it to be able to be a usable global variable ... for similar to you...parcel coverage
