  1. Mark, you can see my specs below. I've had this laptop for about a year now and am not having any problems at all running X6. It does have dual graphics with the option of using the NVidia card only. Chief does better when I let it decide which graphics to use. The NVidia card did give me some problems with vector views being sent to layout. No problems though with the onboard video though. I'm working on a file now that has a file size of about 49 MB. and I'm not having any problems. I do have only one complaint about this laptop but not about performance using Chief.
  2. I have this cooling pad (see link). I don't need it for my current HP laptop but I did for my previous HP laptop which ran hot. This cooling pad has adjustable fan speeds for the fans (2). On high, it kept it cold. On medium speed, it kept it just fine. http://gaming.coolermaster.com/en/products/others/sf19usb3/
  3. I would have a model for each townhouse for making changes. Just take one townhouse and do a "save-as", rename it and make the changes. If you change/move windows or exterior doors, then your symbols will need to be redone if you made them.
  4. Dennis, I downloaded your raised panel door. I see you made it with X7. I haven't loaded X7 yet but will in a week or two. It's really strange that Chief brought it into X6 but now I can't delete it from my library. Never had that happen before.
  5. That might be good enough. Thank you Joe.
  6. Joe, it's a 32"x80" door with I guess 4" rails and stiles. Painted, not stained. Any kind of panel would be fine. It just needs 10 panels. Thank you,
  7. That is a 10 lite door. I'm looking for 10 panel door.
  8. Has anyone seen a 10 panel door in a library? I cant find one in the manufacturer's libraries. TIA,
  9. In an elevation, it's always been that you can only convert to a 3D molding polyline...even in previous versions.
  10. He's pretty good to go for now. I was glad to see that he wanted to do it himself now and not just have me send him his plan.
  11. David, sorry I didn't get to you last night at the user meeting. If you don't get an understanding on how to do this today on CT, I can probably help you tonight. What you're needing to do is probably easier to do with one on one help but maybe someone here can explain it for you. I'll get in touch with you later today or this evening to see if you figured it out.
  12. Just use a color instead of a roof material.
  13. You don't have proper room definition for each room. Look closely at how your walls are joined. Look to see that no wall is set for "no room definition.
  14. We have a free online meeting Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm (Central Time). If you would like to attend, then please send me an email using my email address shown in my signature. Feel free to call me if you need more information or questions. This is an open meeting. Since I haven't downloaded the new version (X7). I'm going to see if any of the regular people attending will go over it with us and give a preview. Sincerely,
  15. Sure. Email me at my email address below in my signature with your phone number and I'll give you a quick call.

    X7 Bug?

In X6, with a camera open so you see the camera in plan view, I did a cad detail from view and only the camera label (text) went to the cad detail. This is interesting. I never have any cameras showing when I do a cad detail from view. If I save the camera, close the view and show the camera in plan view, then when I do a cad detail from view, yes the camera and camera label show in the cad detail. Never knew it did this.
  17. It's in my locker but I'm not downloading it yet.
  18. To get this, I used a cad box with a colored fill set to the back, a cad box with pattern fill set to the front. For the chair, I used the cad block of the chair moved to the front.
  19. Dennis, I haven't downloaded any of these but it could maybe help. http://www.sketchuptexture.com/p/exterior-floors.html
  20. Make it have a ceiling, then build the roof. Once the roof is on, remove the ceiling.
  21. It's hard to tell you what's going on with out looking at the plan. None of your settings are to default. It's good practice to always work with defaults where or when possible.

    Wall Help

I have a 4'x8' trailer I made several years ago. Just for grins, I tried to build a house on top. Took me about 20 minutes to figure something out. To do it better, it would have to be done with a little more time. I guess it can be done. The house is not a symbol...only the trailer. Maybe I should say the trailer is under the house (tip).
  23. This will probably be your best answer to make it work. It's what I do.
  24. This happened to me several years ago and I had to pull a wall back and re-join it to fix the problem.
