widest section. that little inset section is like 2" deep.

I am absolutely terrible at making symbols. I'm curious, how much would someone charge to make a newel post like the one picture below. It's 42" Tall and 8" x 8" wide.
-
For some reason, I thought it would be an issue. Looks like it's clean to me.
-
NVM, Just tried it and it looks great. Lol. I wasn't sure if the wall would "cut" or "interrupt" the Wall Material Region.
-
Have you tried it with a wall material region? Currently away from my desk and just thought about that. I assume it would work the same way.
-
Right, Just like I did in the video...
-
This video has no sound because A.) I sound like a girl, and B.) It's to early for liquid courage. Use the wall intersection tool. Worked for me. See video here... http://www.screencast.com/t/aLPwmpkak

I may have a solution. please stand by...

Thank you! It is quite a complicated roof. Lol I'm ready to get this one off the books.

I'm having some issues with an auto roof return, redrawing the roof plane doesn't help, and for some odd reason when I go into the dialogue box and uncheck "Auto Roof Returns" The roof plane on the right ignores the command. I'm ready to finish this plan and move on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chad and Emily Lambert.zip

FloyudShank, Wait... I'm confused... You consulted a design team about how to change Exterior Door Defaults? I'm sorry, but I fail to see how what you just posed has any relevance whatsoever to this post... Maybe you, or I miss understood something. Perhaps we should both reread what this post is about.

Allen I was in the Door Specification Dialogue Box, when I clicked to change the molding, (opening the library browser) it crashed X8. It was 4 in the morning, and I was off to bed so I didn't report it or anything. But it has happen to me twice now since the release.

Taking online training would be a good start. Joey Martin does a great job training. He's posted in the "Offering Services" section of this website. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/2967-chief-training/

Custom Shower - Tiled Base - How To Create
Rosco2017 replied to HomesByDesign's topic in General Q & A
I think Scott's method and Joe's method for creating walk-in showers are both great ways to do it. There's more than one way to skin a cat you know? Although political discussions are forbidden on this forum, I will take a moment to say that I believe the political parties divide the nation. A nation that is supposed to stand as one. A great comic once said "presidential candidate are like two hand fulls of sh*t, the only difference is the smell." If you're Facebook friends with me, you know where I stand on this race. LOL. When I create a walk-in shower, I use a pony wall and cap it off with a counter top. (See photo below) -
http://www.screencast.com/t/ZKZr5gNBct1I That's how to get rid of it if it's a wall material you assigned in the room specification dialogue box.
-
Check and see if you have a wall covering applied to that room. That's how I'm able to replicate your issue... If that's not your issue, please post the plan for more accurate help...
-
Can you post the plan?
-
Well hot dog that did it! LOL Thank you very much!

I wanted to let you guys know this was done in X8. I say this because I know some haven't migrated from X7 yet.
-
Can't seen to get this little "tick" to go away. See attached plan and pic. Can anyone guide me in the right direction? Lot 15 RJD Revision Roof Trouble.zip

Anyone ever have this problem? It just started with X8. I open my library and navigate to a item and the preview is grayed out. The items are there, just the preview is missing. See attached video. http://www.screencast.com/t/vbHbBvmxD

Here are my results.

You can change the line weights by clicking the image in the layout as well. I was doing what David was doing in his video but shift selecting the elevation wasn't giving me the dialogue box I needed.
-
Dang it! I knew I would remember this crap if I just sat down and actually took a whack at it. When you send your elevation to layout, you can change the line weights in that box. After your elevation on the layout, you just click the image, open it up, and there is where you change the color... Good lord I just wasted everyone's time. I apologize for that.
