I did a video on this about 7 years ago but I can't find it. Mark's first suggestion is the way to do it and you WILL NOT have issues with drawers and doors. use bow front's either positive or negative bows depending on whether you want the cabinet to bow in or bow out. The best way to know what the bow depth is and the cabinet length is, you must get that info from CAD that reflects the shape of cabinet. You would use the CHORD for the length of cabinet and you would use the distance from the middle of the CHORD to the APEX OF THE ARC for the BOW depth. It turned out to be a very easy process once I got the hang of it. i made round islands using this method. The trick is to get the DATA from the CAD that reflects the shape of the cabinet.

Jared, how do you respond to Jon Caffee's statement in regards to advanced features? Would file locking work?
-
delete the two attic walls on each side of the second floor window
-
Yea, I get it. So you probably put both roofs on upper level so you can see the walls and headers that support the roof at upper lever and then for the lower roof you probably use ref sets to show the lower floor walls but you probably put a white fill for the upper rooms so you do not see the lower floor walls that are under the second floor. Both methods have their challenges.
-
This is very true. A downside to this is the framing shows on the floor level the roof plane is on.

use ref sets

You need a different layer set for each view. Apparently you are using the same layer set for all 3 views.

Better yet, put ina 3070 doorway and then to the side put in a 3040 pass thru, I think you will get what you are after.

Got it, uncheck louvered windows.. thx

That is a great question. What is the point of OBJECTS TO INCLUDE if the vent is still included?

That is funny, Thanks for the humor.....

KITCHEN - PLACING OVEN INTO CABINET (PROBLEM)
dshall replied to interiorarch's topic in General Q & A
Unfortunately if it is free, the help is not always appreciated. I always appreciate the time many of the pros give for free... including the help Michael passes out, he is a true asset to the forum. -
Very frustrating..... I should be able to have a cabinet go through a doorway. Two pics, one showing it does not work, the other pic showing it will work..... to make it work,. cut out offending wall, and then paste back in original position.....

I concur.

I agree, if this was possible, I would use the wall hatch tool.

I wonder why I still can't efficiently build a mono slab adj. to stem walls
dshall replied to dshall's topic in General Q & A
I did my rain dance and now it almost works. -
I wonder why I still can't efficiently build a mono slab adj. to stem walls. This is a mystery to me. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have been to UGM's before and brought this up. I will bring it up again with the engineers and maybe this time they will listen. It is so stupid that something so common and basic cannot be done without some trickery. You guys that build the mono slabs adjacent to raised wood floors know what I am talking about.

This is a good idea.

I have never used it, maybe I am misssing something.

Michael got 6 rep points for that vid.... I wonder what the record is..... I have never seen 6 rep points... well deserved..... I have used that method to take a round column and convert to one half column (plan view)....... but as always, I learn a few nuggets whenever I watch one of Michael's vids.

If you are moving walls I say no. If all walls are static then yes. If you are moving walls, do a SAVE AS and do option 2.

Ditto
