Well Bill, so we are going to the South Pacific next fall, and Lynn asks, "Honey, can you please read to me something about the Cook Islands", well we ain't going to the Cook Islands, we are going to the Society Islands, her friends are going to the Cook Islands, so I say okay, I will read something about the Cook Islands to you, and then I notice that Bill Page is looking for one of my videos, I say, "Babe, I can't read to you yet until I help Bill out". Not a smart move, she just went storming out of the room and down to bed, claiming that CA and Bill Page is more important than she is....... long story short, the vid ain't working, I will check on it in the morning, I will also check on my wife in the morning to she if she will ever talk to me again....... last time I do you any favors Bill Page.

Have you tried calling chief architect? I think they have a few for sale.

Thank you Lew, you are absolutely correct. Put the foundation on level 25 and have 24 floors below plus foundation. There is nothing magical about LEVEL zero if you build your own foundation. BTW, auto foundations would never work for 97% of my projects. Yes, auto foundation can get me started but I would always need to edit.

BTW, I think using invisible walls is very limiting and very frustrating.

......well, i just did a vid explaining how to use pmoldings for back splashes. Look for it. That is your answer. You can and I do use this method for creating all of my back splashes and tub enclosures.
-
Nuts, here is the video. Easy Peasy. PART 1 AND ONLY PART http://youtu.be/0nKmLCGY5uI let's try the link above
-
Nuts, try using moldings for your backslashes, easy peasy, and then you can even wrap them around quite easily without having to create a separate psolid. All my back splashes are pmoldings, I may have to revisit that technique with the new BACKSPLASH TOOL, but when I think about it, the pmoldings are simpler to manipulate in most cases.

I concur, and if you can combine the foundation with the basement plan do so....... and don't even use LEVEL ZERO. Nothing magic about that layer......

any experts on importing terrain data want a gig?
dshall replied to Lighthouse's topic in General Q & A
That was a funny one, I go back every 6 months or so and listen to it, it cracks me up too. The JC waterfall video. With JC's help I learned a bit from doing that. I recently did some waterfalls on a pool design and it was so easy using JC's techniques. -
Rendering Technique Options- I said, "CANCEL!!!!!"
dshall replied to BryceEngstrom's topic in General Q & A
Bryce, please do not whisper your complaint, YELL IT OUT LOUD...... this is so frustrating, I agree, if I want to cancel because CA is taking too long, please let me cancel, this issue has been going on forever........ if Bryce and I are missing something, please let us know, otherwise please fix it so if we it cancel the operation in progress. Dog gone it Bryce, I had to give you two rep points for this post -

Probably not a bad place to post it. Do you have an idea of what it is worth to you. Are you thinking a 25.00 price or are you thinking the value is 500.00? Give us a price and somebody might be interested........ anything under 27.50 and I ain't interested. -
Come on Lew, don't complicate things, listen to Tommy, heed what Joey is saying and watch one of the multitude of videos I have done on the subject....... just don't ask me to find the vids, they are out there somewhere.
-
I absolutely agree with Joey, however I love remodels, do them all the time, there are many ways to do what Joey is essentiallly saying, I think I have a better method and done videos on it..... bottom line, do not combine new with existing.
-
I absolutely agree with Tommy. There, you have two nitwits saying the same thing, do what Tommy says until some smart guy comes along and says something different...... AND PROVES HIS METHOD IS BETTER.
-
Nice job Bill, but not clear on what you did, would you mind elaborating.
-
That is what I am talking about, I as well as I am sure many others do it this way.

I'm not sure what the big poop is. I thought if you imported a jpeg, and is was times to big (scale wise), open the dvx of the jpeg and reduce the size, I do that all the time including once today. Figure out the ratio that the jpeg is oversized or undersized, open dvx of jpeg, there is a size listed there of the jpeg, and change the size appropriately. Just pull out your texas instruments solar powered scientific function calculator, plug in the numbers and...... easy peasy. Do you guys remember those TI scientific solar powered calculators, I had mine for probably 20 years until I sat on it wrong and broke it. The darn thing was nearly indestructible until that fateful day. Hey wait, what about those Helitt Packard calculators? Are they still around. I remember my engineer used the HP while I use the udder cuz i weren't smart enuf to run the HP.

You know David, I forgot who suggested it, but a 3d molding polyline drawn in section along with an arched opening at each end of the barrel vaulted hallway was a cool solution for a barrel vaulted hallway. You just suggested a PSOLID I assume drawn in elevation will not address the coffered ceiling. For this particular application, I may build the entire thing out of ceiling planes. IOW, the ceiling planes would be used to build the arch over the tub and then the use ceiling planes over the ears to create the coffer. JC might suggest making out of psolids turned into solids and manipulated with boolean ....... I forgot how to refer to the boolean things.
-
Let me give you some advice, learn how to post a plan and be clearer on the info you need.
-
Several ways, PSOLIDS or RAILINGS turned into symbols, maybe others have more methods.

P., you are getting old, Richard has been the true curmudgeon since day one. Hey P., are you busy? I assume you are. You probably have not been slow for 20 years, you got your clients and they keep you busy. I got to say, this is the newest "wave". Things are going gang busters down here. If this "wave" goes on for another 5 years plus, I will be set up to enjoy life.
-
We could, I was wondering how others were handling the situation. I think I explained how I was dealing with it, how are you dealing with the issue?
-
Bill, would you mind repeating this?
-
Finally the true curmudgeon reclaims his title. Richard, what took you so long? I was letting this ride but all along I knew that Richard Morrison was the true "curmudgeon".
