  1. Well.... you have to know what you are talking about..... and I wish I knew what I was talking about half the time...... bottom line...... I think you really really have to understand what you are doing. This might be part of the answer...... .... select the plan you are going to send to layout..... so..... FILE<SEND TO LAYOUT...... check out the "scaling<USE LAYOUT LINE SCALING" box in the "SEND TO LAYOUT" dvx......... do you check this box or not? Test it out..... I did not check it back in the day... I now check it........... you have to decide whether you want to use this option or not..... I will say again that you really have to understand what this is all about........ I think it is dependent on ..... let's just say that you must know what you are talking about..... I have been meaning to do a vid on this subject..... what I am saying is depending on certain settings in the print dbx box, checking the USE LAYOUT SCALING sometimes makes a difference and sometimes not. I am getting too involved with this, bottom line, check this option out, it may help and it may not depending on what you want to do.
  2. I swear, I am so fed up with this SoCal weather, it's over 66 degrees outside and the sun is beating down through my office window...... I have to turn on the A/C to cool this room down....... I suppose when I play golf this Thursday, hopefully it will a bit overcast so I won't sweat as I am hitting my tee shots.
  3. It was the American Institute of Building Designers (AIBD). I have a buddy who was grandfathered in. I don't know why I did not give it a go.......
  4. Joe, this would be a good exercise to do in your workshop. Funny, I did a vid on this a few years ago and it worked pretty good, but for the life of me I cannot remember how I did it.
  5. I am not sure if I agree with this. Take the wall between the game room and the wet bar area and move that wall 12" to the right, hit f12 and it is fixed...... or move the wall between game room and the web bar and alighn that wall with the bath/game room , hit f12 and it is fixed. Robert may be correct, but I was able to fix it without using Robert's method.... who's right? Who cares, there is something funny going on and it might be a minor but.
  6. The Moakster's method should work as well as any. I do it differently, I number sequentially, once I have newer plan file number, I go to the layout and TOOLS<LAYOUT<REFERENCED PLAN FILES..... select the old file, hit the BROWSE and browse to the latest plan file..... now all is linked. Two relatively quick ways to accomplish the same goal, choose the one that floats your boat.
  7. Thx JPC, I did get the ADBLOCK, and that is working now, I did go through extensions and uninstall something, I have a feeling I have something very invasive. As of now, I am okay, we will see in the next week or so if I have issues. It just seems like there are some POP UPS coming from somewhere that I cannot pinpoint how to eliminate..... I am getting by so far, thx.
  8. Well, one good thing came out of this..... I found AWESOME SCREENSHOT, an app for my browser that I can edit.... see the arrow in the screen shot
  9. Thanks, unfortunately I never set it up. But I also afraid it will effect any files I have since edited.
  10. Yeah, I looked but could not find. Somehow I managed to suspend for 2 weeks so I will see what happens in two weeks. Thanks for the help.
  11. This is the program, they say I can delete it on my PC but of course I am using a MAC. There has to be a law against this. I am afraid to download something to fix it because I am afraid I will have to fix something else. There must be a way to delete it off my MAC in a control panel/
  12. So ever since the Jon Caffee workshop and I downloaded GIMP and something else, I get the "HOT DEALS" pop up on my MAC every time I go to a new page in Safari. Any idea how to get rid of it? You have no idea how aggravating this is.
  13. Yeah Glenn, I'm with P. I do not see your avatar.
  14. Hey guys, I was in my sons office today, (he is a REVIT user), he spit out a few very nice raytraces in less than 15 seconds. Hopefully he will be at workshop tomorrow morning and I did ask him to send me some of his raytraces that I will share with you prior to the meeting........ I ain't gunna take up any of Jon Caffee's or Jintu's time promoting REVIT.
  15. Yusuf, you knucklehead, you are probably the smartest guy here except for Glenn. Try to use Jing, Glenn figured it our. Yusuf, you have some good stuff to offer to the community. give it a shot, I will be waiting.
  16. Todd's mess videos.... PART 1 http://youtu.be/EjJfbO5XkrM PART 2 http://youtu.be/6ncqtqPD0eI not bad vids, been done many times before, if you are bored might be worth watching.
  17. Brother Todd, that looks like a good exercise, if nobody else solves it, I will try to do a vid in about an hour or so.
  18. I agree with Eric, something is wrong with your stairs. How do think somebody can help you if you do not post the plan. What is your problem? You are asking for somebodies help, the least you can do is post the plan so somebody can help. He is not being sarcastic and neither am I. Don't you realize that if you had posted the plan yesterday, the problem would of been solved by now?
  19. So I think what you are saying is us folks in The Great US of A are the only people in the entire world who have kept our wits about us and have opted to stay with the more difficult and cumbersome Imperial System.
  20. Hey Simonas, may I ask you what country do you live in? It's a metric country, that rules out two countries, The USA and England. So out of the other 206 countries from where do you hale? Based on the architecture behind you in your avatar..... First guess would be Spain, Portugal?, or is it a South American country?
  21. Well Nick, there could be a few different reasons. If you post the plan you will have an answer in about 137.58 seconds.
  22. I bet the original curmudgeon nailed it. Richard Morrison, Mr. C..
  23. I can not get the notes pertaining to the low usage plumbing on a sheet that size, let alone a floor plan. Ahhhhh, California, don't we all love it.
  24. Post the plan and somebody will help. Or don't post the plan and take your chances.
