  1. Likely an improperly joined roof plane fascia gone rogue on you.
  2. Your best bet is to create a new Layer such as " Cameras, Layout " that is Locked and Off. When you send a camera view to layout put the camera on that custom Layer.
  3. That looks about right for Greyscale. It will always seem as though you are getting extra density when it is all just slightly different tones of gray.
  4. Close the camera view perhaps ? The fill is just for the purpose of printing.
  5. Ok that is what I thought. And then subtract %room.finished_floor_elevation% to get the finished ceiling height. Go with the workaround and put in a suggestion that your are doing it that way but could make good use of a proper NVP. I think it is just a lot more complicated than you or I might imagine to put those NVP's into the software.
  6. That would be awesome but not possible. NVP's would do just fine.... Then we could not only see but use the values. Is it %room.height.ceilingfinish% that you are after as a NVP ?
  7. If you use an auto railing it would push way up into the next level but if that does not matter then go ahead and us the DBX settings to do it otherwise use polyline solids and place them manually.
  8. I just cracked open the "Grandview" layout and they have utilized the system for sections but it also works great for elevations. They used simple page numbers but it can be done the way I do it as well. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/samples.html
  9. If I have a moment I will look through the sample plans I have and that would be the best example.
  10. I have and others have discussed the details here on the forum many times but it is difficult to search or get the concept but the key piece of information that you may have missed is using the Layout Labels and setting them up to auto number which drives the callouts in plan as well as layout. It also keeps the Project Browser organizes so it helps you as well as making the drawing easier to follow.
  11. So are you at least using the automation that works for sections and elevations ?
  12. The one I use in Layout is a Global macro in the dropdown menu.
  13. Yes and No. You can use a camera callout in Plan views that will intelligently know which layout sheet the camera view has been sent to. Then in layout you can use a regular callout that can identify what page it is on so it matches the plan view intelligent callout. The only real manual part is you need to input the camera ID and match it to the plan view camera ID. You don't necessarily need to use the camera view but it needs to be sent to the page that your detail is on, which works really well for live details but for cad details you can use an empty layerset for the camera view. The is no true link between the two but indirectly it works.
  14. You can reverse the direction of the plot line in chief if you disconnect it first but I would be more concerned about the 2' discrepancy in the survey. Yes the imported polyline arcs are useless. You need to trace over with chief cad arcs. You can snap to the originals.
  15. Always a lot of cleanup with imported cad work. Something is up with your plot line measurement but not sure what happened there either. You may need to trace over some of cad arcs with chief tools. There seems to be a significant discrepancy on your rear plot line measurement. The "126" is likely some sort of a hot key along with all the extra %% but after that is all sorted out there is still an issue.
  16. Did you select "Polylines" when you imported ? Not sure if that makes a difference or not but all your imported arcs are polylines and they do not seem to want to join together. I don't think there is such a thing in Chief so the regular tools do not know what to do.
  17. I am not so sure the program will do that automagically. You may need to manually adjust your framing in the wall detail. Notice that there is no edge line for the lower birdsmouth though.
  18. If you want a birdsmouth there you will need to increase the room height accordingly to create the birdsmouth. Or are you saying it is all the same room ?
  19. It looks to me like the wall is too low for a birdsmouth cut.
  20. You can set that up in your signature so that it always shows for those that are helping out.
  21. Usually both are the best practice. You may have a soffit setting issue but hard to know without the file. Welcome to Chief Talk.
  22. Yes but those are thumbnail image files. I can send you my email if you have the PDF's
  23. If you can provide the original PDF's I can see if I can do my best to duplicate what you had with the new model I would also need the RGB colors to be sure they are correct. And some cash if you are happy with the results.
  24. There are a few more options and features that allow more customization that you might be used to seeing in X10. In pervious versions I would not even consider standard view for elevations. Would you like me to see what it would look like in plot lines and color ?
